About this ebook

I cannot make much claim about this book. All the honour must go to God. When I have written a chapter of the book and read it over, I said, this is not I, it must be God. God is the inspirational writer of this book and whosoever reads it, reads the book of God.
God wants to reach out to all of His children so this book is for everyone. The book will guide you into great truths so that you can overcome the evil one. It is the truth when applied to man sets him free.
God has said, ‘For lack of knowledge my people are destroyed.’ (Hosea 4:6 KJV).
God does not want His children to be destroyed so He sent His servants to give them knowledge. It is essential that you study and apply the teachings of Top Secrets of Life for through it, you can find the knowledge of God.
One of our great mistakes is doing our own things and not allowing God to work through us. Now let me leave you with this saying and please keep it in memory at all times, ‘Man must cease from his own works and let God work through him’.

I would like to thank my daughter, Adiel Ruth Reid, who acted as my correspondence agent and helped and supported me in the production of this and my previous book. I would also like to thank my granddaughter, Fabienne Bonnaire, who did the art work of this book and the previous one, Power up with God. Their contribution is inestimable and appreciated. It is well worth to check out Fabienne’s work at her website, www.baet.co.uk. I thank and praise the God of heaven and of earth, through Jesus Christ, that He has made my works so easy by providing me with such a creative artist as my granddaughter, Fabienne.

Above all others, I humbly acknowledge the great God, the Creator of us all, to be the true Author of this book. There were times when I sat at my desk typing on my computer when I could feel the presence of someone watching. A big word that I did not know previously might come to my mind. When I typed it in a sentence, I checked the meaning of it in my dictionary. I then realised that the word fitted nicely in the sentence, so I said to myself, This must be God.

    A Solemn Warning

This warning is not only for all the people of the world whom I have never met or spoken to but also for my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, and those who knew me as their pastor, friend, relative, or neighbour far and near. In as much I would like to teach you many things face to face, it was not possible to do so, for I could only be with you for a limited time. However, God has enabled me to write two books. The first one is entitled Power up with God, and the second one is Top Secrets of Life. Think not that I have written these books but believe that they are the teachings of Jesus Christ. Read them seriously like a person who is seeking hidden treasures. If you read and apply their teachings, they will make you great.

Be not alarmed if you see me coming with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, fully dressed in white and riding on a white horse in power and great glory. In that day, you cannot say Dad, Granddad, or Pastor, for it will avail you nothing. I call to all of you now to read and apply the teachings of these books, and in that day, you will join with me and the Lord, Jesus Christ, to judge the world in righteousness.

May the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, be with you all. Amen!

    Preface

There is a glory that excels the glory of Moses. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, the people could not look at him because of the glory of his face. So, Moses had to put a veil over his face so that he could speak to the people. But when he went into the presence of God, the veil was taken off.

Moses represents the law, for according to the Scripture, the law was given by Moses, but truth and grace came through Jesus Christ (John 1:17). And that law represents the law of a carnal commandment or the glory of the flesh. Remember, brethren, that when Moses died, God Himself buried His servant Moses and no one can find his burying place up to this day. The flesh must be buried and never rise again. The flesh man must be buried, and the Lord of glory is to be manifested in our mortal bodies. Paul, in his writing to the Corinthian brethren, said this:

But if the ministration of death written and graven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance which glory was to be done away; how shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more does the ministration of righteousness exceeds in glory. For even that which was made glorious, had no glory in this respect by reason of the glory that excelleth. (2 Corinthian 3:7–10)

We ought to seek, therefore, the glory that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. We can do so by seeking the face of our Father everlastingly who dwells in the Holiest of all. We can do this by the Spirit which He has given unto us. And we know that we have access and boldness to enter by the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

This book leads the way of how the flesh man is to be buried and the life of Christ manifests in our mortal bodies.

    Introduction

It is not so much what we are today but what we will be tomorrow. The great Master has said, What does it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36–37).

Everyone knows that he has a limited time on earth and the day will surely come when he must give up all that he has, for he cannot take anything with him to his long, long home. Empty we came into this world, and we shall leave with nothing. Let us take heed to these words written in Ecclesiastes 12:1–8:

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; while the sun or the light or the moon or the stars be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: In that day when the keepers of the house shall tremble and the strong men shall bow themselves and the grinders cease because they are few and those that look out the window be darkened. And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird and all the daughters of music shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high and fears shall be in the way and the almond tree shall flourish and the grasshopper shall be a burden and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home and the mourners go about the streets: Or ever the silver cord be loosed or the golden bowl be broken or the pitcher be broken at the fountain or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

There was a certain young man who was very rich, and he wanted to know how to inherit eternal life. This young man, I believe, was a great thinker. He had great possessions, but he also knew that one day he had to give up his riches. But if he had eternal life, there would be no need to give up his possessions. Consequently, he came to the Master to make enquiry of how to obtain eternal life. The Master said to him, Keep the commandments. He said, Which? Jesus named the commandments he knew he was keeping, but he did not mention the great commandments, such as Love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and Love thy neighbour as thyself. If He had mentioned the above commandments, he would have fallen flat on his face. When he asked what he lacked, Jesus told him to sell all that he had and follow Him. The young man went away very sorrowful, for he had great possessions and he did not want to part with them (Matthew 19:16–22).

Now that young man must be cursing himself in hell, unless he repented afterwards for not giving up all to follow Christ. What a fool I was, he must be saying, clinging to the filth of this world when I could exchange them for the eternal riches of Christ.

Men and brethren, fellow citizens of this world, take heed to this reading and do not follow the example of that young man.

This book will direct you how to obtain eternal life and be forever rich in glory. Let me end the introduction to this book, Top Secrets of Life, by giving you a true story of a first cousin of mine who took heed to the words of life that I gave unto him and is now enjoying paradise in glory. This cousin, whose name is Victor, did very well for himself in terms of making money. When he passed away, his estate was valued at over £60 million. We were very close and used to live as brothers, sharing the same room and cooking for each other in Camberley, Surrey, United Kingdom, in the mid-1960s.

When I returned to my native country, Jamaica, he began training in nursery care and was very successful. After some years, he started his own business in caring for old people. At one time, he had twelve care homes, and most of them were like mansions. One of his brothers told me that he sold one of them and it fetched over £3.5 million. It so happened that I returned to the United Kingdom and visited him. He showed me around in one of his houses, and I asked how he did not get lost in it—and he was still expanding on it.

When I returned to London, for I was living in London then, I wrote him a letter and asked him, Who is the richest person in the world? He did not reply to my letter, but I gave him the answer in the letter, saying that the richest person in the world is he or she who has eternal life, for when you have eternal life, you will have the time to accumulate all that you desire. But what is the point of having thousands or millions of pounds and suddenly you die?

After some years, one of his brothers phoned me to say that Victor was in the hospital and he only had a few days to live. I rushed to see him in the hospital. When I saw him, he began to tell me that he prayed, but sometimes he fell asleep. He quoted John 3:16, which says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. I said to him, Don’t worry about falling asleep, for it happens to us all, but the main thing is that you believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ, and you shall have everlasting life.

He laid hold upon the words of life, and like one of the thieves on the cross of Calvary, he is now enjoying paradise with the Lord, Jesus Christ. But you may ask, How do I know that? God reveals things in dreams. I dreamed one night that he and I were going to a certain place and in front of us were two identical houses—one for me and one for him. And that tells me that he made it into glory.

Dear reader, you too can regain paradise that was lost by our first father, Adam, in the Garden of Eden, but God sent His only begotten Son and opened up the way for us so that whoever believes in His Son, Jesus Christ, can regain paradise through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. The way to gain eternal life is presented to you in this book; go in therefore and enjoy paradise.

    Chapter 1

    OUR WATCHWORD

Holiness unto our God is our watchword in Zion. Everyone should be willing to live a holy life unto God, for He is holy. If it seems evil to you to serve God in holiness and righteousness all the days of your life, then serve the devil, but I urge us all to serve the Lord, our God, in sincerity and truth.

Flesh cannot fight against spirit and be an overcomer. It takes spirit to fight against spirit. And your spirit must be stronger than the spirit or spirits that may come up against you. We are in spiritual warfare more than ever before. Satan, the enemy, is sending out wicked spirits to attack us through witches, wizards, necromancers, obeah men and women, and other forms of evil attacks. Are we able to overcome them? Many of God’s people have gone astray. We are seeing today that some of us who profess to be Christians are turning to witches and necromancers to find love. Such do not know the harm they are doing to themselves. To find true love is to follow the path which God, our Father, has mapped out for us. He is the source of love, and if you find God, you find true love. True love springs from the fountain of the love that is God. You may now want to ask me, Sir, what must I do?

Firstly, let us weigh up the facts. There are wicked spirits attacking us and our children. If we and our children are not under the wings of the Almighty God, the devil called Satan will come and bind us and then destroy us one by one. Let the word of our God be verified in your life as written in Psalm 91.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his fathers and under his wing shall thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge, even the Most High thy habitation: there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For, he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and adder shall thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

You may not have to accept what I am saying, but please listen to the words of the living God. The apostle Paul says in Ephesians 6:10–18,

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Clearly, therefore, we need to obey the word of God. The source of our armoury is in the word of God. For instance, do we have our loins girt about with truth? Jesus says in John 17:17, Sanctify them through thy word: thy word is truth. What is this breastplate of righteousness? We cannot stand against Satan in our righteousness. Our righteousness is like filthy rags. The devil will say to us, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you? We must stand in the righteousness of Jesus Christ always if we will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. This righteousness is that garment which every believer must put on if he is to enter the presence of the Almighty God. God has provided that garment of righteousness for everyone by just believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, as the One who shed His precious blood for the atonement of our sins and who was crucified and buried and rose again from the dead for our justification and is now seated at the right hand of power for our glory. We must wear this garment night and day without fail by always remembering that we are clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. And what is the helmet of salvation? In 1 Thessalonians 4:8, Paul admonishes us to put on the breastplate of faith and love and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation. This means that we must keep the hope of salvation steadfastly in view. Let me now turn to the other weapons of our warfare. I love the words of the hymn ‘Christian, seek not yet repose’ by Charlotte Elliot (1836).

Hear above all, hear thy Lord,

    Him thou lovest to obey;

Hide within thy heart his Word,

    Watch and pray.

The message for today is Watch and pray. If some of us who are watching and praying can hardly make it, then what about those who are not praying at all? The truth is that they are already taken. Jesus says, My sheep hear my voice and they follow me (John 10:27). The voice of Jesus says, Watch and pray. By the way, the words watch and pray are synonymous. If you are watching, you are praying; if you are praying, you are watching. So, let us turn to the words of the great Master, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He says in Luke 21:36, Watch you therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape those things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of man.

Now is the time to ask the important question What do you think are the things that shall come upon the earth? I am going to present the evidence to you, and when you read of the evidence, judge for yourselves and give your verdict. I will quote the evidence from the high authority of the word of God so that you will be in no doubt whatever.

In Daniel 12:4, we read these words: But thou O Daniel shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. I suggest to you, my friends, that people are travelling from place to place more than ever before. I further suggest that knowledge is increasing by leaps and bounds. For instance, have you got a mobile phone? Your forefathers would not dream that they could use a small thing like a mobile phone and speak to anyone anywhere in the world. Judge for yourself.

There is a specific sign I want to draw to your attention. It is to be found in Matthew 24:7, which says, For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in divers places. I suggest to you that the nation against nation element of that text occurs, for instance, when Germany is fighting against France or Germany against Britain. So, we have the world wars that started in 1914 and 1939—two world wars in the twentieth century. But we are not having these wars anymore. We are having civil wars—the Egyptians fighting the Egyptians, the Libyans fighting the Libyans, and the Syrians fighting the Syrians, and so on—in other words, the kingdom against kingdom element of the above text. These are the beginning of sorrows, as Jesus says.

Now I want to take you to something special because I want you to see how the Scriptures are being fulfilled in our days. Have you ever read about the little horn that shall rise and pluck up three horns? Let me refresh your memory. The first Scripture is Daniel 7:8, which states,

I considered the horns and behold there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots and behold in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man and a mouth speaking great things.

Let us now look at Daniel 7:19–20.

Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful whose teeth were of iron and his nails of brass which devoured, brake in pieces and stamped the residue with his feet. And of the ten horns that were in his head and of the other which came up and before whom three fell, even of that horn that had eyes and a mouth that spake very great things whose look was more stout than his fellows.

I want to bring you to another Scripture, which gives the meaning to being plucked up as subdued. It is taken from the same chapter 7 of Daniel. Look at verse 24 and note these three last clauses: and another shall rise after them and he shall be diverse from the first and shall subdue three kings. I want you to take particular note of being diverse from the first and subdue three kings, because I will bring you back to them.

I think we can now identify the little horn. Prior to AD 70 and 14 May 1948, there was no nation called Israel. Since 14 May 1948, Israel by a miracle has been reborn. Israel is the fig tree among nations, and the fig tree began to grow and spread its branches. In 1967 there was the Six-Day War of Israel fighting Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Israel won the war and up to today still possesses the Golan Heights, which previously belonged to Syria. Israel has subdued Jordan, Egypt, and Syria. What is your judgement on that?

A religious person who is a Jew is going to rise in Israel claiming that he is the Messiah. He will be most convincing, for he will be able to perform great signs and wonders, but he is the Antichrist who shall weary out the saints and kill some of them. Now you must ask yourself this: By what power or authority is he doing these miracles? For he will not be working by his own power but by satanic powers. Can a man who is a homosexual work by the Holy Spirit? Can a man who promotes witchcraft, necromancy, obeahism, and other forms of devil works work by the Holy Spirit? I think not. I wonder if he will be coming from the tribe of Benjamin.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judah, for thus it is written by the prophet: And thou Bethlehem in the land of Judah art not the least among the tribes of Israel for out of thee shall come the governor that shall rule my people Israel. I mention Benjamin because I believe he will imitate the coming of the true Messiah, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who has already come but will come back to gather His people from one end of the earth to another and bring them to safety before He pours out His deluge upon all the habitants of the earth who know not God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Coming back to the little horn which, according to the word of God, is diverse from the first, let us look at this diversity. This brings me back to the first king, King Nebuchadnezzar, who represents the head of gold of the image that he saw in his dream. He is the head of gold, and the kingdoms of this world began with him. After Nebuchadnezzar saw the dream of that image of a man from the head to the toes and was given the interpretation by Daniel, he set up a golden image and commanded people from everywhere to bow down and worship it. Whoever would not bow down and worship the golden image was cast into a lake of fire. Is history going to repeat itself that this man is going to make images of himself and command that whoever does not bow down and worship his image would be killed? Is he going to set up his images in the churches so that people can worship his image? Remember the Bible says that he is going to make the image speaks. Nebuchadnezzar’s image was dumb; it could not speak. Nebuchadnezzar’s image was just one image, and it was not of himself. Nebuchadnezzar’s image was not set up in the church.

I want to conclude this chapter by saying a little on courtship and marriage. My reason for doing so is because I want to prepare the ground for holiness unto the Lord.

    Courtship and Marriage

In the church of the living God, there are no boyfriends and girlfriends, but brothers and sisters and wives and husbands. Before two persons get married, in this case male and female, there must be a period of courtship. This period should not be very long, and it should not be more than six months. During this time, a brother and sister must know that they are meant for each other. That having been settled, the wedding may take a year before it happens. I exhort that there should be no kissing but gentle embrace until the wedding day. We must be aware of the devices of the devil. If he can take over our emotions, he will make us do things that we bitterly regret.

    The Persons to Marry

We do not marry male and another male, we do not marry female and another female, we do not marry Christians and non-Christians, and we do not marry divorced persons unless we are acquainted with the facts of the divorce. Then the minister may use his discretion to marry the couple. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:14–18,

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

    Chapter 2

    WHY PERISH?

Thus has the Lord spoken: For lack of knowledge my people are destroyed (Hosea 4:6). Therefore, sons of God, why allow yourselves to be destroyed for lack of knowledge? Like a wide ocean, the knowledge of God is available to all, but for lack of that knowledge, many are perishing. A wise man or woman will seek the knowledge of God.

The plan of the enemy is to always afflict the people of God. Let us seek, therefore, the knowledge of God and apply it against the enemy, so that he can flee from us. Many times, Satan came up against the Lord, Jesus Christ, but every time, He said unto him,
