Hello, my name is Sonny Chase, I am writing this book for you and families whose lives have been, or are about to be, transformed by epilepsy.

It is my sincerest hope that by sharing my personal experiences growing up with epilepsy and then, finally undergoing brain surgery to control it, you will feel you are not alone, and more importantly, you will realize there is hope that you or your loved one, can overcome this condition. I welcome any questions or feedback you might have for me, which you can e-mail at webwaswoven@sonnychase.org.

I hope my story will make you smile and comfort you during this challenging time.

Finally, feeling both exhausted, yet satisfied that she had reduced my temperature, she rocked me to sleep and laid me back down into my crib before crawling into her own bed getting some much-needed rest.

Two hours later she awoke to the sound of the Christmas tree toppling over. This was strange, she thought. Being I had began walking at the age of six months, she had leaned the tree up against the wall of the trailer house in order to prevent me
