PROVOLOUGE
Like every book, this too isn’t a solo effort. There are a lot of people who helped me, but here are some in particular:
My mom
My dad
My brother
My aunt
My friend, Abdul Bilal Ruhan Tahami (that’s his real name)
My grandfather
My grandmother and
You, the readers
This book is not all by myself. It was written by me in hard copy, and my friend Abdul Ruhan Bilal Tahami spent a lot his time and worked very hard to turn it into a soft copy. My mom, dad, aunt, grandfather, and grandmother were the ones who encouraged me to write more and more about what I like. Thank you all of you. Without you all, this book would just have been a junk written in a notebook. You all helped me I getting it published.
With that, I would like to welcome you to
The Rejected

The Beginning
I’m Carl Anderson. I live in New York, but I’m a native of Africa. I’m a fully grown man, but my story begins when I started college, -the day I came to New York.
People usually think of New York as a very nice and polite place, a place where you can be anyone you want. But exceptions are everywhere. When I came here, I wanted to become a writer, but some people didn’t help a lot. Instead of being a writer, I started to be called as ‘nickel’. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me.
I think it is pretty clear to me why I got the name nickel. I know that doesn’t matter to most of you, but it does to some people I came across.
The first day of my American school- I still remember it. I walked through the hallway to the locker room, not saying anything to anyone, and no one else did either. But they all stared at me like I was an alien.
I reached class on time, and there was an empty seat there. I went to sit with a boy who was sitting alone, but he shooed me away, saying that his friend was coming to sit with him.
The only place left was one at the last bench, so I sat there. There was no one else around it. After a while, a boy came and sat next to me. He told me that his name was Franklin Johnson.
Many people became our friends, but some people used to ignore both of us for our
