What Do You Say, When Your Mom Asks, “What Do You Say?”

About this ebook
This book takes common everyday situations when their parent might say What do you say? Each time this prompt is used, a conversation bubble appears above the childs head with a list of the possible answers the parent is looking for. The parent and child reading the book can then talk about what they think the correct answer would be. In addition to common polite words, such as please, thank you, excuse me, and sorry, the book touches on Halloween / trick-or-treating and occasions when a child might receive a gift. Like me, Im sure many of you have been embarrassed when your child is impolite or inconsiderate. My hope is that this book will help that from happening . . . too often.
Marilyn Tate Wilson
Marilyn Tate Wilson is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lived until after college. She met her husband, Rick, in 1976. They found their way to Los Angeles where, a few years later in 1980, they got married in the famous Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. Shortly after, they moved to Eugene, Oregon, where her twin sons were born. The depressed economy of the early 1980s found them moving back to California. They settled in San Diego near her mother. Her twin sons are now thirty-four, and she also has three grandchildren between the ages of one to ten years old. In addition to raising her own children, she ran her own day care business when her boys were in elementary school. When her sons got older, she worked as a nanny for several different families. Many of the children she worked with were under five years old. Teaching young children when to use polite words has been part of her daily life for over thirty-four years. She strongly feels that raising polite children should be a goal of parents, regardless of their ethnicity, race, religion, or global locale. Wouldn’t the world be a nicer place to live in if everyone just said please and thank you?
