Forgotten - Lunar K
Drifter
Swimming, swirling, round and round
I’ve fallen into a whirlpool
Lost now found
Then to drifting into waters
Of ocean’s deep
And silently praying
For the Lord to keep, me safe
From drowning in my tears of pain
Guess the laws of attraction
Have hit me again!
They say, "live by the book
And all will be right"
So why all the upset and need to fight?
With myself for just wanting to fit it
Even if they say
I sin
I’ll never be perfect
That’s a matter of fact
So, let me be me
And don’t react
RIO 2016
Oh! little girl from the slums
A gymnastic dancer, with little funds
Her dream to be a part of the Olympic team
Oh! what an incredible dream
Must practice more to get in
So she can gain more medals to win
And a mermaid with wrists aching
From diving off high boards
From a slum life to thriving
Her strong body summersaulting in mid air
Without a care
She trains, she dares daily to get her place
A brilliant diver a brilliant race
Too the Paralympian who rises early
So he can surely train all morning
Before going to work
In an office he’s not a jerk
With wife at home who thinks highly of him
Hoping he can win a medal for
His country’s sins
For they three come from the favela’s
Where there is poverty, sickness, drugs
And all day drama
And me just hoping they get a chance in life
Away from all the struggle and strife
Like us some Britt’s do struggle
From day to day
From the hustle and bustle, from the ghettos
To the streets
From the hospitals and prisons
Some of us have choices to make decisions
That could be for our future
So we can stand strong and our offspring
Can be nurtured
But for those that are just not given the chance
It’s time we take a more unified stance
If not then we are forgotten
Just like a breeze
That comes and goes
With much ease
Football
As you kick the ball or dribble
With your feet in the pouring rain
You kick the ball and aim for the net
To win a goal or maybe forget
Where you come from and how your life is
She can kick the ball or it can be his
You just pass time or run off steam
And from off the streets you dream
To get on a team where maybe there is
Future fame
To be
