About this ebook
Brittany Thompson
Brittany Thompson works for herself as a full-time mom, girlfriend, and writer. She began writing poetry in her younger days at age ten. She always said she wanted to write about her personal experience with life, knowing many could relate. Since then she has gone to YCP, obtained her GED, went to college for patient-care tech, then switched to welding, but currently, Brittany is working on a book titled Life As We Know It. It’s about her childhood and just simple everyday situations life throws at her. In addition, she is working on getting the title cover for her book. A native of New Roads, Brittany Thompson studied patient-care tech and welding at Baton Rouge Community College. She didn’t get to finish welding because she got pregnant before graduating, but one day, she plans on going back when her children are older. Brittany Thompson lives happily in Napoleonville with her partner, Colby Aucoin, and two beautiful girls. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention their dog named Bear. When Brittany is not working, she likes to draw, paint, and spend time with her family. Brittany can be reached at Brittanythompson22395@gmail.com.

Life as We Know It - Brittany Thompson
Momma
The one who carried me for nine months and raised me ever since I was born.
Now look at your baby girl with two baby girls that’s her world.
She is working as hard as she can to be successful to raise her girls.
I couldn’t do it without your caring and loving words of encouragement.
If that was the case I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.
I appreciate all that you have done for me and continue to do.
Now it is her turn to pass it on to the girls.
I’ll still be there.
My Lost Love
I still remember to this day, I had just finished subway.
My friend was talking about nature, I couldn’t relate at the time because I was picturing our future.
Then all the sudden my phone rings an you said you were almost home, so I didn’t feel alone.
Two minutes later little did I know my whole life would change and never be the same.
I picked up the phone thinking were could you be only to find out you were no longer here with me.
I was only four months pregnant how could this be?
God took what meant most to me.
As I approached the hospital with tear filled eyes, I was hoping this was just a dream.
As I stood there watching them try to bring you back to life, I was thinking how I just became your wife.
The darkness and emptiness I felt inside drove me numb on the outside.
For the longest I blamed myself wishing instead it was thyself.
The sleepless nights where I couldn’t believe you were up above I felt so neglected an unloved.
As days passed by I saw you from time to time helping me fight the darkness inside.
People thought I was crazy; at least I wasn’t like them and lazy.
Crying thinking the tears
