Family Dynamics
It’s not every day that an overly educated woman finds her baby daddy on a bus. June 1st 1988 God must have had something wonderful in mind when he created me. My name is Azealea Williams; born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. 11th and Keith was where I was raised. From my grandparents on down we all originated from that one particular address. Even though they owned several homes this address holds a special part in our hearts. This address is where I learned my first lessons, had many memories, gained my street smarts, as well as created many great friendships. My family came from this neighborhood such as my: aunts, uncles and cousins. We just all grew up in these houses; the neighbors are also like family to us all. I say that because my aunts and uncles went to school with them. And so the people who were around my grandparents age who were my elders were literally like family. So basically my childhood was extremely exciting. I could stay out as long as I wanted—on the porch of course…" let me not push it because we did have rules regardless of who we knew or how close we were to our neighbors. I was growing up in a time where the neighbors watched your kids and made sure they were safe. In that point in time we didn’t worry about shootings, killings and kidnapping. It was a safe environment back then, kid friendly, everybody looked out for each other and had each other’s back. This was due to the fact that everybody had each other’s back in that point in time. That is just how tight that neighborhood was and the neighborhood also held a lot of weight in my family.
So in my household, it was my mom, my dad, my sister and I. My mom was an overall well rounded person. According to family members she stayed to herself as a child, kept her head in the books, listened to her music, graduated high school at 16, got married at 20, graduated college at 21 and also had my big sister Artist at 21 too. My mother loved to cook as she is a phenomenal cooker, everyone raves about
