You must be exchausted sleeping here all night in that chair., Would you like me to order you some thing from the menu? Your wifes breakfast will be served shortley. You can have breakfast with her. Or if you like there is a cafateria on the first floor. I can not vouch for the food. But it’s better than nothing.

I guess i do look a little under the weather this morning. I may need that second cup of coffee after all.

    Narator

With a slight chuckle nurse andréa’s agrees with a smile showing from the corner of her mouth.

    Nurse andreas

If it were my husband lying there in this bed, i would have done the same thing. I will be closing the curtain now. I have to take your wifes vital signs and administer her medicine., Do you mind stepping out of the room for just a few minutes?

    Mr. Montgomery

No. I understand completely. Mrs. Andreas, you’re just doing your job. I’d rather have it that way knowing she is in good hands. When she s awake, please tell her i am outside this door. I don’t want her to feel alone.

    Nurse

    I will mr. Montgomery.

    Mr. Montgomery

    Nurse

    Nurse andréa’s

    I understand completely.

    Narrator

Nurse andréa’s closes the drapes around mrs. Montgomery’s bed. Mr. Montgomery turns around and proceeds to walk into the hallway, sits in one of the chairs and waits for nurse andreas to allow him back into his wife’s room.

    Nurse

Mrs. Montgomery, you need to wake up now, mrs. Montgomery. Can you hear me.? Mrs. Montgomery do you know where you are?

    Narrator

(Nurse andreas proceeds to tap her a little on the cheek); (mrs. Montgomery turns her head. Slowly) after a few minutes of cheek pinching she looks up surprised.

    Mrs. Montgomery

Who are you? Where am i, how did i get here? What happened to me? Where’s jonathon? Is he alright?

    Nurse

Slow down mrs. Montgomery and i will answere all of your questions.

I’m a nurse at belleview hospital. You were brought in last night through the emergency room. Do you remember falling?

    Mrs. Montgomery

I was talking to my husband. We were planning to take a vacation. I remember talking about hawaii. I have always wanted to go back to the islands. I don’t remember any more. I must have blacked out.

    Nurse;

You had a grand mal seizure. You were brought to the hospital last night by ambulance. Right now your vital signs are very strong. That’s a good sign. The doctor will explain everything to you when he comes in this morning. You gave your husband a terrible scare last night. He’s outside, sitting in the visitor section. Your husband has been here all night sleeping in that chair. He never left your side. I had to ask him to leave the room., Only for professional purposes. I have not seen such devotion in a long time. He must love you very much.

    Mrs. Montgomery

. Thank you. We are soulmates. They say everyone has a soulmate in their live time. I believe i found mine. Are you married?

    Nurse:

Yes i am. To a doctor who works here?

    Mrs. Montgomery

Is he your true soul mate?

    Nurse

‘I’m not sure if hes my true soul mate. We love each other very much, but are extremely independent. Our schedules are very hetic. I am on a rotating shift, and he just works around the clock. Our time together is very valuable. And we cherish that.

    Mrs. Montgomery

I knew as a little girl that i would marry mr. Montgomery. We would play in the attic together. Hide and seek mostly. While my mother and mrs. Montgomery would have tea in the kitchen. He was the boy next door. His famiy moved to arizona. J onathon was twelve by than. We kept in touch by writing letters back and forth to each other. We went from childhood friends to pen pals. Do you find it strange that a boy and girl of 12 years old would do something like that?

    Nurse

No. You must have been very close to keep in touch with one another especially by mail. How did you two meet again?

    Mrs. Montgomery

Do you believe college? We have been together ever since. We just knew we were ment to be together.

    Nurse andreas

I have heard of soul mates. They say there partners are just like them in many ways. Mannerisms, thought. You’re very lucky to have such a powerful love mrs. Montgomery. I am going to allow your husband back into the room now.

I ordered some eggs and bacon for you and your husband this morning. Enjoy your breakfast together. If you need anything at all just ring
