This is an authentic Greek childrens cookbook. I have used my familys recipes and transformed them a bit so that a child can easily prepare them. The photographs in this book are of my boys and me preparing these delicious and quite-easy Greek dishes. There are twenty recipes and even a Greek nursery rhyme called Koulourakia at the end. Many children are taught this song in Greek, and the hand gestures include rolling the koulourakia into shapes

Joanne Karipidis Kefalas lives in Long Island, New York with her husband, 3 sons and of course Yiayia. Ms. Kefalas loves to cook and finds such enjoyment out of having her children join in. She taught reading in the Long Island public school system for many years. After her first child was born, she was given an opportunity to start a Greek Language preschool at her local church. She is now is the director of that Greek Preschool in Long Island, New York. Ms. Kefalas is the author of 2 other children's books including "Why Am I Afraid At Night" and "On the First Day of School".

Introduction

This Greek cookbook for children was developed from my love of cooking with my children. All of my sons love to cook with me. It is a special part of the day when they are included in our cooking process. I was raised in a home with my maternal grandmother, Yiayia and grandfather, Papou living with us.
