Well there is very little I could tell without giving away who I am. Though my love for writing started in middle school, my love for books before I even started school. I used to be a swimmer, and even though I have had a few brushes with losing people and myself I still try to smile every day and look at everything with a silver lining. I really hope that this book helped at least one person. The reason I wrote this book beside having it help me, was because my mom wished there was a way to help more people who have either lost someone to suicide or is someone suffering from dark thoughts. So I wrote this to try and give her wish a way to come true.

To those who have lived and lost and lived again.

And to those who are forever watching over us.

    Part 1

Life. Living. Death. Dying. Four powerful words that have very different meanings. Every person born has life. They are alive, though not every person is living life. Every person experiences death. They all stop breathing, and their bodies stop functioning, completely shutting down. Every person is dying. With every breath, they are closer to death. That is the bare-bones definition of those four simple yet complicated words. Every person sees those words differently. They interpret those words in a different manner: life, death, living, and dying. Most people want to live to a ripe old age before dying. But there are some who don’t live to a ripe old age; they choose to end the life they were given because they no longer feel like living. There are, of course, those who don’t choose to end their lives. That choice is taken from them by outside forces—like car accidents, other accidents, murders, military work, and countless other ways, including health reasons like cancer.

To those who choose to end their lives, it is a choice—one that is made either in the spur of the moment or thought out and debated on. They feel, to some extent, that everyone would be better off without them—that the pain, loneliness, sadness, and dark and depressed thoughts would finally go away. In their eyes, they have no choice but to end their lives. Their minds leave no other choice to end their pain, both mental and emotional. They are trapped in a never-ending loop of depression, unwilling or unable to reach out and ask for help. In some cases, they won’t accept help, love, or kindness. They don’t want the pity looks or disgusted looks that people give them for even thinking of ending their lives. There are different reasons that someone could give for wanting to end the life they have. One major reason is depression. The dark and unhappy thoughts and emotions that circle their minds for days, weeks, and months on end, wearing them down to the point that the fight is gone. Other reasons could be trying to get out of bad situations where they feel trapped or are trapped, like being in an abusive relationship. Others may be because they know their health is declining and that they
