My Sister and Me: Poems and Rhymes
By Kelvin Smith
()
About this ebook
Its hoped the reader will recognise and recollect their own thoughts and emotions within these observations of life as we know it, even when at times theyre said with tongue in cheek, along with the usual portion of nonsense and laughter.
Kelvin Smith
This collection of poems, or rhymes as Kelvin calls them, is just a few of literally thousands he has written over the years since he started writing at secondary school at the age of eleven back in the ’60s. So when you read any of the author’s poems, they can well have been written at various times of his life, by a teenager, by a young father, by a middle-aged man, or indeed, by a grandfather in his sixties, which he is now.

image.jpgMY SISTER AND ME
(On the photo alongside)
My sister and me
Down by the sea,
I'm on the left -
She's taller than me.
She's quite protective
And as you can see,
She dressed to impress --
But quite oddly.
I got used to the point
And many a stare,
My sister and me
(Well me and the bear!)
I never found out
If she looks like me,
Or if she still does
Now she's over sixty.
We've had a good life
Though she's out of her tree,
(Me and the bear)
My sister and me.
IT'S NOT A CRIME
(To Rhyme all the Time)
It's not a crime
To rhyme all the time
And now I'm mature enough,
To say that blank verse
Does make me curse
And I don't like that stuff.
And to those who compose
Free verse and prose
And others that always rhyme,
Let's all dare
To Scarborough Fair
Cause rhyming's a true friend of mine.
No rhyme or reason
Love or Treason
