ONE NIGHT WHILE DRIVING MY CAB A BEAUTIFUL FEMALE FROM GERMANY THAT I WAS DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION WHISPERED INTO MY EARS; AND ASK ME DID I LIKE DRIVING A CAB? I SAID YES OF COURSE, SHE SAID WELL THEN CABBY! YOU OUGHT TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR CAB EXPERIENCE. AT THAT MOMENT I REALIZE SHE MADE A GOOD POINT, AND BEING THE MAN LIKE I AM, I SAID YES TO HER. KNOWING ALL THE TIME THAT I AM A MAN THAT TO KEEP MY WORD IF I GAVE IT. SO NOW HERE I AM WRITING THIS BOOK WITH NOT EVEN A CLUE IN HOW IT’S GOING TO TURN OUT TO BE. CHAPTER 1

    I was in beaumont Texas working at bethlehem steel when this all began. I got laid off and moved to Jacksonville Fla, because while i were laid off i read in the paper that there were work in Jacksonville with a company call Cisco Subcontractor. So i did like the beverly hillbillies did, only i didn’t move to California, i loaded up my truck and move to Jacksonville Florida; well, i did call Cisco inc first and they told me to be there Monday morning. I found another fellow to go with me that needed work, well we splitted the gas bill and drove on into Florida. Monday morning bright and early we were there, and we took a welding test and started to work that same day. We worked for a year and having a good time doing it.

    We were working at different places and going from city to city, and State to State. Staying in some of the best Motels; swimming pools, good food, you name it. We were treated very well by Cisco. For once i was very proud of who i was working with. Cisco was about repairing ships at shipyards, and general contracts at electric companies. Well after being in Jacksonville for so long i got tired of going from motel to motel, so i found me an apartment for three hundred and eighty five dollars a month with central air and central heat, so when i were not traveling i could be at home; But, mean while I was waiting on my next job not knowing where it would take me. Because working at Cisco I knew that my next job could be anywhere, because we gets to travel a lot from city to city. We lived in nice motels and meet different people on every job, that’s why I was so excited waiting on my next job. But it wasn’t long when I got a phone call from my supervisor asking me if I would like to go to Boston Massachusetts for 6 weeks, to help repair a Navy ship. I said no it’s too cold there, but my supervisor convinced me that the weather at that time had been good.

    So I took his advice and said to him that if he would find someone to ride with me I would take the drive. I didn’t think that he would find anyone; but, I was wrong. He called me back in 20 mins and told me that he had a man that is a welder and he would take the drive with me. So I had to honor my word, I said ok, so I gassed up my old 69 Buick checked the oil, and everything were good, so we got right on the road heading towards Boston. It took us about two days and two nights, and when we got to Boston, the next two days snow had begun to fall and cold weather came in at the same time. I wanted to turn around right then and go back to Jacksonville, but it was too late because we were already here. There were eight other guys that took an airplane, they were already here also and waiting on me. So we got settled in a motel, but the very next day the instructor came and took us all to the ship at general shipyard in East Boston. That was the Navy ship that we had to repair. I was at that time a first class welder making good money.

    We were staying in a little town outside Boston call Lynn Massachusetts, and we were at the Town Line Inn hotel. I didn’t like it too much because there was too many people sleeping in one room. but the company was paying so I had no complaints. Anyway after being there for a week things change. Some of the workers and myself went out to a nightclub call club Unity in Dorchester Ma. I met a lovely good looking lady that night. She was fine as could be, but the funny thing is after that night with her I had forgotten about how cold it were. All I could think about then is would I ever see her again;

    But, I didn’t have to thank very long because she called me the very next day, and asked me If I could come over and pick her up from her house. I had given her my phone number the night before, so with no hesitation at all I said yes. I was glad she called because I went right over to her house, it was very nice and peaceful there with her and her little one daughter, which was about fourteen years old. We went out to eat that night, and after that we just drove around the city looking at different sites. I was just trying to learn a little bit more about the city of Boston. I really enjoyed being with her, but it was getting late and I had to go to work the next day and she did too; so, we had to call it a night. But then she suggested that I should just stay at her house since it was so late; so I said yes, because I really wanted to be with her anyway. I could tell that she was feeling me also, so I stayed there and made love to her the rest of that night, knowing that she and i had to go to work the very next day. She worked at an Insurance Department as one of their top agents; but nevertheless, we made it to work the next day. After that night of being together she ask me if I would move in with her? Well instead of going back to the motel and sleeping with three or four guys in one room, that sounded pretty damn good to me. I said to her only if I could pay you half on your rent.

    So we both agreed to that as roommates, everything were included. Her rent was six hundred dollars a month. It was great as long as it lasted which happens
