About this ebook
Shirley Brown
I was born in Oakland, California. I went to Castlemont High and graduated in 1965. I had cancer when I was eighteen. Guess I could have died. But I learned over the years you have to think positive and know you will get through all the pain and suffering, and if you want something real bad, well, go for it! Don't get discouraged. Don't give up on your dreams. I wrote three books already. 1. Shirley Brown Book of Poetry 2. Sarah Flannagon in the Case of the Mystery Tunnel 3. Sarah Flanagan Mysteries. My favorites are Perry Mason, Mattlock, Murder She Wrote, and Castle. These are famous authors’ books, so I decided to write my own, Sarah Flanagan Mysteries.

Sarah Flanagan Mysteries - Shirley Brown
Chapter 1
It was a quarter two three by my clock on the night-stand when I woke up! So I jump out of bed and I remembered Hey! I don’t have to go to work today.
it’s my vacation. Boy! Did I need one. and now I’m going to Hawaii, boy! I couldn’t wait.
Oh! my name is Sarah Flanagan, I’m a detective at the age of five my mom was murdered. along time ago and I seen a shadow of a man who did it, but I was to young to remember that’s why I became a cop to catch killer’s off the street. all I remember about my mom that the killer wore a mask.
Well anyway that’s why I’m a detective now. I want to get the low life off the street so people like women and children don’t go through what I went through, as I dressed I said to myself I’m going on my vacation.
Hawaii make room for Sarah Flanagan". There I was up and ready to go!
Then the phone rang. ring
I answer it, it was Tim. "Hi Sarah! Said Tim. are you ready to go get on your flight? Good morning to you Tim, I said! Good morning! said Tim. Are you fully awake? Said Tim. Yes! Said Sarah. You know we have a two week’s vacation in Hawaii. Said Tim… We? said Sarah. Oh! I forgot to mention I’m going too. Oh! Okay. Said Sarah. Pick me up in a hour. Just remember Tim, every time you go on vacation something always happen! Like what? Said Tim.
I don’t know! said Sarah
. But it will. Well said Tim. I already booked us at the Blue Moon in Hawaii near the beach. and plenty of Sun.
Ya! said Sarah
. and plenty of girls! girls! girls!
What girl’s? "said Tim. Just plenty of Mi-Ties, and you! When we got to our flight it was ready to depart. we got in Hawaii about eight-o-clock that night we each had our own room next door.
Boy! am I’m tired. said Sarah. I’ll think I’ll turn in! What? Said Tim the night is still young. Lets party! You party. Said Sarah. I’m going to have a nice warm glass of chocolate and I’m going to bed. Oh! Sarah.
said Tim. Where are you going to get the chocolate? Sarah looked at him and said. in my suit case I carry it with me in motels as she smiled and said good night Tim.
So Tim left with out her and wait down stairs to the bar. and that’s when it all started the next day!
Chapter 2
It was seven A.M I just turn over and then a knock at the door. Knock Knock
. Ah! as I turned over and look at the clock on the night-stand, it was an old clock with green numbers.
Who is it?
I said, as if I didn’t know.
Tim said. It’s me! Open the door! Ah! Now what. Sarah said. as she open the door. she had a soft white night-gown on with her hair in her eyes looking at Tim. ah! Tim it’s seven o’clock in the morning. This had better be good. I’m telling you Sarah. This is great news as he walked through the door. I found a man as I was walking outside a bar and we talked. Sarah said. Tim? Get to your point.
Well said Tim his name is Sal. Boy! Sarah he has a voice like an angel. So what is your point? Well Sarah I told him that I would bring you down to met him and maybe we can, that mean’s the both of us can get him a job pointing with his figures back and fourth. Ah Tim! you woke me up for that? Tim looked at her and stop and said. you look so pretty in the morning. ya! Okay.
I’ll go down with you to meet this man! By the way Tim where dose he live? Behind the bar in a tent. Sometimes it’s a box. Said Tim. Oh great! Said Sarah. You got me up at seven in the morning for this! as I got dressed Tim was telling me about his voice that he could be an announcer his voice was that good.
As we approach the bar, we went in back of the building and there he was, a man about six feet tall and blue eyes with black hair, he wore an old checker suit straight out of the forty’s sort of speak. As we walked towards him, he looked up and saw me starring at him! Hi my name is Sal! You must be that pretty lady that Tim was telling me about last night in back of the bar.
Why I am! My name is Sarah Flanagan, please call me Sarah ! Okay! Said Sal. Just call me Sal. As he shook hands please excuse my appearance it’s along time between bathes. oh! It’s quiet alright Sal. I know times are hard right now as Sarah sat down on the floor besides Him. we talked for a while, then Tim and I left. Sarah looked at Tim, well buddy
! I gotta hand it to you this time! That guy really took my breath away, but how can I help? Well Sarah Tim said. do you remember that radio show we went to investigate one time? Oh ya! Sarah said. the guy I went to dinner with? Ya! said Tim. I thought you might call him up and tell him the story of Sal. And he just might give him a job, what was his name" Tony Feraira? Ya! That’s it! Okay! said Sarah I’ll do what I can do. later the next day Sarah called and brought him down there all clean up. He had the works done, got him a good bath, some new clothes, boy he looked like a million bucks. Tony Feraira hired him on the spot. now Sal could go back home and provide for his family. Kinda put a lump in your throat when you help some one in need.
We thought that was the end of a good story but that was only the beginning…. he called very early one morning, naturally it was our captain Joe Henderson, it seems that he call Tim, but he wasn’t in, so he called me. Sarah! Said captain Joe. How is your vacation so far? Well good said Sarah! We’ve been just laying on the beach! So what’s up! Captain? Sarah I’ve got something for you and Tim to look into it. sure what is it chief? Sarah always called him the chief. Well there is a Lieutenant Jordan of the police department there, he told me last night there was a a homeless man stab to death last night, in a alley he knows that you and Tim are the best, so I want you to go there and help him with the case.
But chief! We. we were hoping for a vacation here, but I know a cop is always a cop, we get no vacation I’ll get Tim on it. By chief!
Tim walked in the door and said. What’s up Sarah my love? Forget it lover boy. We got work to do.
Ah! what kind of work? That was the chief. a lieutenant Jordan wants’ us in his office tomorrow morning it seems there was a homeless man stab to death behind the bar last night, I hope that it wasn’t our Sal?
Oh no! I hope it’s not. Said Tim. I don’t want anybody stab. Did he say how many times he was stab and the motive? No said Sarah! We will just go down there and meet the lieutenant Jordan in the morning It was eight in the morning when we got in the at the Honolulu
