I am an aspiring author from Jamaica, Queens, a wife, and a mother of three. I usually would write just to keep notes on my spare time and was told I know how to tell a story verbally. I have a unique way to get my point across. I then realized this was my passion, so I invested all my energy, with a little experience, hard work, and staying focused. I was able to separate the bad from the good and choose my own journey toward success. I was taught positivity is the key to every door, and no one would ever see my vision as clear as I do, but with the love and support from family and friends, it just makes that vision look even more beautiful.

    SO MY LIFE BEGINS.

M oving from southside Jamaica queens to brooklyn east new york cypress projects to be exact, you know money and family don't mix. So after living in a single family house for twenty five years, with three bedroom, attic, full basement, living room, dining room and a huge kitchen with two refrigerators and a deep freezer, garage and a nice size back yard. To a two bedroom project apartment was a downgrade, but it beats being homeless and on the streets

now this is where the trust issues began.

july 11th, that was my day off of work. I wanted to go and treat myself to get my system upgraded in my car, i get up got in the shower got all fresh and clean. as I'm walking out my bathroom i peep out the window, see this nice looking guy with shoulder length dreads, light brown complexion and hazel green eyes.

Oh Nice! he looks good damn. By the time i get dressed and ready he will probably be gone. Oh well let me just do what I'm doing, so i can get out of here.

so after about twenty minutes of me getting ready, you know the usual. i grab my shit and made my way down stairs. I Ran right into this fine looking man that i seen when i got out the shower.

Hello how you doing? hello he responded, as i was about to ask him his name a guy that i usually see in the building on the regular came out the door.

Hey whats up, this my brother Barkim

Now you see Barkim was a smooth dude, clean looking looks like he had himself together. so when Jovon said that was his brother. Instantly i thought this nigga was lying because jovon-a-bum Thinking to myself this dirty ass nigga couldn't have a brother looking like this.

Must be a friend, cousin or some shit.

Oh okay, hey brother wasup? just going with the flow, aint shit, what you was getting into Barkim replied. Because a mutual associate of ours got shot recently and Barkim wanted to know if i was going to the hospital and needed a ride.

long story short, one brother went to the hospital and the other brother stayed with me. Hey good morning daddy, how was your night? it was ok as we was both getting up to get ready for whatever the day may bring. Being that it was nice out, there was a lot of things to get into. so we went to denny's for breakfast, right on pennsylvania ave off linden blvd. then decided to catch a movie. the whole day was good, we even went to Senor frog's. On Times Square, shit was Lit! low and behold,

Then thats when shit got real.

    CHAPTER TWO

ring, ring, ring my phone just kept ringing . . . so i decided to answer.

"L ashawn! can you please come do my hair?

I have a date tonight and need some tracks tighten"

See i finished cosmetology school in 2014 but before i received my license i was doing all my friends and family hair for half the price, being a single mother going to school and working part time was okay. i just needed to get my skills up and brand myself, So i'll do a quick fixer upper of any style full head, cut, color, curl ect. i'll make house visits or i might even tell you to come to me in harlem.

that morning of July 3rd, i found myself getting ready to travel to Brooklyn to fix my cousin weave for her date. I had some things to do before i got there, but i reached brooklyn around 3:30pm or so.

Wasup Quasha, what you looking to do, tighten up these tracks and keep the same style? or redo the whole head and and get a different style?

Now see my cousin, Jesus! that bitch would change her hairstyle like she change her panties lol So when she asked me to tighten up some tracks i knew i was gonna be here all night. So by the time i was finish it was a like around twelve, but when i said i did my thing. I mean i did my damn thing! I called Taz so he can come pick me up, being that he lives in brooklyn we could ride back to my spot together. But see at that time it was kinda hard keeping up with this fuck boy, cause you know the streets, if you get caught up it can go either way.

See Taz was the type of guy that works off the books at night if you know what i mean, he had a regular 9-5 shift for three days out the week. just keep the
