About this ebook

Sirr Fredrick Douglass was raised in a small town by his Christian mother and older brother. With no father in his life, he was dependent on different men to show him how to be a man. While away in the military, tragedy struck, leaving him to wonder about God and to question his existence. Now he was back at home with a new belief, and he had to face his past. Also, he had to make things right with the one person he left behind. He found himself in a tug-of-war for love. Could she be the woman to lead him back to redemption? Or could she lead to destruction? Would tragedy strike again for Sirr, or would he find a way to escape it?

To Mark Davis, a true friend and an even better brother-in-law

    Prologue

I still remember the day I left for the military. I still remember the look in her eyes—the look of sadness and the look of she was losing her best friend. I still remember what she had on, what she smelled like, and what conversation we had. She was my best friend, we grew up together, we did everything for one another, and we were inseparable as kids.

Now that I was leaving, it was like a part of her was leaving as well. She stood there with tears in her, trying not to cry. I gave her a hug and promised her things were going to be okay. She was so independent and strong; even if there was something wrong, she wouldn’t let me know about it. We sat on a bench just staring into the day. There was not much talking at this point. I guess the reason was she felt betrayed by me because I was leaving and I was leaving her behind. I had always promised to be there for her, but now, I had broken that promise as I was getting ready to leave and start a new life. A life of my own. A life without her. I was glad that she was there for support since my brother and mom couldn’t make it.

I looked over at her, and she was just staring into space. She was the most beautiful woman I ever laid my eyes on. She stood about five feet six, cocoa brown skin, a nice waist, bee stings-sized breasts, and hair down to her shoulders. She had on a white dress that came down to her thighs when she stood up and matching sandals. I was wondering what she was thinking as I began to think about our childhood, all the things we had been through, how her dad took me in as a son since my dad was not around, the things he taught me, and how he taught me to be a man; now, I was leaving to become my own man.

The PA system announced that it was time to board on the bus. I grabbed my bag and stood up and said, Well, I guess it’s that time.

She stood up, cleared her throat, and said, I guess it is.

We gave each other a hug, and I left to get on the bus. After I finished loading my bags, I gave her one last look. She looked at me as she turned to walk away. When I got on the bus and sat down, I thought to myself that there were so many things I wanted to tell her and so many things I wished she had said to me. I knew how much I had crushed her with the betrayal I did by leaving. I loved her more than anything in this world, and I promised I would never leave her, but I guess our lives pulled us in a different direction.

    Chapter 1

The alarm went off. I reached over to turn it off and to see what time I set it to. I moaned and groaned, but it was time for me to get up. I had a lot of stuff to do today. I sat on the bed and looked outside. It was a beautiful day today, and I was full of joy. I guess the reason I was full of joy was because today was the day I was going back home. I stood up and walked to the mirror. I joined the military as a boy, and now, I’m leaving as a man. I stood at five feet ten, was medium built, and weighed at about 140 to 150 pounds, give or take. I was not a bad-looking dude, if I say so myself. If I were a woman, I would date me. Many people said I reminded them of Derek Luke, but I couldn’t see it. I looked at the clock, and it read nine o’clock. I had to hurry because my flight would leave at three o’clock.

After I showered and got dressed, I took another look in the mirror to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be. I picked up the phone to call my battle buddy to see if he was taking me to the airport. The phone rang about six times before the voice mail came on. I left a short message telling him to call me back. When I hung up the phone, I figured he would not answer after the night we had last night. Some of my other battle buddies and I went out last night, and we had a going-away party, and Doc went home with a young woman, so I figured he was still asleep or doing something else. My phone rang, and it was Doc calling back. When I picked up the phone, I heard DJ Screw in the background. Doc was a light-skinned dude, weighed about 220 pounds, and was medium cut; he was from Atlanta but had the love for Texas music. I guess that was what made us great friends because I was from Texas and I supplied him Texas music.

His real name was Jamel, but we gave him the nickname Doc because he knew everything, or at least he thought he did.

Hey, Sirr, what’s up? he said through the speaker.

I replied, Hey, was you busy?

He laughed. Nah, man, I was in the shower.

I said, Hey, are you still taking me to the airport?

He said, Yeah, I got you. What time you have to be there?

    I replied, Three o’clock.

He said, Okay, I be there.

We hung up the phone, and I looked at the clock. It was noon, so I still had a little time left. I sat on the bed and said to myself, Sirr, you made it. It had been six years since I had been back home, and now, I was on my way back to where it all started. My mom had named me Sirr Fredrick Douglass. She said that the reason she named me that was that no matter what, people would always have respect for me even when they didn’t want to. While I was sitting there, my mind took me back to the one person I missed and left, Dakota Johnson. The last time I saw her, she had tears in her eyes, and she didn’t want me to leave. We kept in touch the first year I was here, but as time went on, so did our relationship. So I was eager to see her again and curious about what she had been up to.

My phone rang. It snapped me back to reality. I answered it without looking to see who it was.

Hello, I said. I heard a soft voice on the other end of the phone.

She said, Sirr, what you doing?

Nothing. Just chilling. ’Bout to go to the chow hall and get something to eat.

She replied, So you just going to leave Germany a whole and go home without seeing me? So that’s what we now, huh?

I laughed. Nah, I was going to see you before I left. I was coming after I came back from the chow hall eating.

She replied, Why go to the chow hall. I have something for you to eat in my room.

    I said, Yeah?

    She said, Yeah.

I thought for a minute and looked at the clock. I still had time. And then I said, Okay, I be there in a minute.

She said, Don’t keep me waiting. And she hung up the phone.

I immediately started looking for a condom because I knew Specialist Williams didn’t have any food in her for me. She was not the type of female who would cook. My bags were packed up, and I couldn’t remember if I had any or not. Damn, I thought to myself. I didn’t want to miss the chance of hitting that before I left. I had hooked up with her a couple of times before, so I knew what she brought to the table, but we were just friends. Nothing serious.

I thought, Terry. Let me call T. I know he got some. He was the playboy of our group. I picked up my phone and dialed his number, and he picked up on the first ring.

What’s up, Sirr? You haven’t left yet?

Nah, I replied, ’bout to in a couple hours, but hey, I need a favor.

    He replied, Anything.

    I said, I need a condom.

He said, I got it. Come get it. And we hung up the phone.

That’s how it was with all of us. We never hated one another and were just always there for one another. We were friends, we were brothers, and we were kings in our own kingdom. So after I left Terry’s room from getting what I needed, I headed out of the building and sprinted to Specialist Williams’s building. I knocked on the door, and she answered on the first knock.

Come in, she said. So I followed her in, and I closed the door behind me.

This woman was fine as hell. She was about five feet seven, was light-skinned, had nice breasts, had a big booty, and had a little accent. She was from Baltimore, so our nickname for her was B-more. She had on a sexy black robe, and it came down to her thighs. She sat back on her bed and grabbed the remote to turn the TV off and the radio on. I tried to play it cool and didn’t want to look too eager on what I was planning on doing and what I was about to receive, so I sat on the bed next to her.

I said, So where is the food? I’m hungry.

She giggled and stood up in front of me and then slowly untied her robe and let it fall to the floor. She stood there in front of me naked and looking good as hell. I tried to calm myself because I wanted to grab her and throw her on the bed and get it started right there.

She said, It’s right here. Come get it.

That was all I needed to hear. All I needed was an invite, and she just gave it to me. So I started kissing her on her belly as she grabbed my head. I stood up and lay her on the bed. I took off my clothes and lay on top of her. We started kissing, and I slowly worked my way to her breasts and started sucking slowly on them, working my way to her inner thighs. I spread her legs apart and opened up her clitoris and started fingering her to get her in the mood and to get her wet. Once she was at the point I wanted her at, I started slowly licking her pussy, and she let out nice moans and sighs.

She said, Stop, I don’t want to come right now. I want to come on your dick. I stopped, and we began kissing again. While we were kissing, she started to caress my dick really well.

She stopped kissing me and started sucking my dick. Before she started, she spat on it and then rubbed it with her hands. She was doing her thing. I didn’t even remember it being that good before. She stopped and got in the doggy-style position, then opened her pussy up for me to do my thing. I reached into my pocket and got out the condom that Terry gave me and put it on. I slid my dick inside of her as she gasped for air. She started grabbing the sheets and started throwing the pussy back; at this time, we were in perfect rhythm. I pulled out, and she turned to lie on her back. I climbed on top of her and began stroking her again. She wrapped her legs around me like she didn’t want me anywhere but inside her. I got up, put her legs on my shoulders, and started slowly stroking her wet pussy. After about five minutes, I stopped, and she climbed on top of me. She put the dick in and started riding me like she was riding a horse and she was trying to win a race.

After we both came, we started kissing again while I was still inside of her. She spoke, Damn, I’m going to miss this. I want to go with you.

I said, Pack your bags and c’mon. We both laughed and lay there holding one another until it was time for me to go.

    Chapter 2

After I left Specialist Williams’s room, I had to rush back to my room to get my bags and get ready to leave.
