God Comes First in My Life Always I am the seventh child, born in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 11. I graduated in 1974 from Lake Taylor Senior High School. I went to typing school as I worked for social services under CETA. I later relocated and became a crew trainer for twelve years at Taco Bell, where I retired.

I could have been dead and gone

But God has another plan for me

In due time, a mansion, a home

So many times, I’ve come

Close to death calls, but

He saved me. Favor, he gave me

From terrible falls

I love God with my all in all

He blessed me with a gift

To write and recite as I thank God

It was always there

But God

Drew my attention and made me aware

Because of that, I love myself

I care

Chosen

When you’ve been chosen by God

There is nothing the enemy can do

They can only see your light

Shining through

You’ve brought me so far

Somebody prayed for me

Thank God to thee!
