Yaundeen Wright served as a Senior Teacher at her alma mater, Wolmer’s Trust High School for Girls as a pedagogue of English Language, English Literature and Communication Studies. She is a graduate of The Mico University and studied at the University of the West Indies in the Department of Literatures in English. While in Jamaica, where Yaundeen was born, she worships at Pentecostal Tabernacle, Wildman Street. Currently, Yaundeen lives in the United Kingdom with her husband, Deleon Wright.

    This book is dedicated to the honour and glory of My Lord, Jesus Christ. I do not endeavour to suggest any universal prescriptions but rather to open windows of my own life experiences to the end that readers will be treated to the cool breeze of wisdom and inspiration. Indeed, God has a unique design for each of our lives. He hath made everything beautiful in His time.

    God, the Creator of the Universe, in His awesome wisdom and splendor created woman in His image and likeness.

    And God said she was good! Who are we to differ?

    I will praise Him for I am fearfully and wonderfully made! (Psalm 139:14)

    Beautiful Ebony, the colour of your skin is symbolic of the hardships you were built to endure. The secret of your deep inner strength also lies in the beauty of your blackness.

    You have been given the divine gift of being a strong, black, beautiful woman. You have every reason to be bold, proud and confident, and do not allow anyone to make you believe otherwise.

    Beautiful Ebony, the length and texture of your hair are also from a divine design. Had it been otherwise, you would not be able to demonstrate to the world your ingenuity, creativity and incredible sense of style such as your corn rows, twists, plaits, afros, wraps and even ‘chiney bumps’.

    Is what a way she pretty!

    Don’t worry about the flatness of your nose. You are beautiful, just the way you are, and God made it so.
