About this ebook

This study considers what is arguably the most harrowing and heartrending account in the Bible: Gods call to Abraham to sacrifice his only son out of obedience to the will of God. Drawing upon the depth of insights in this passage, author Sunday Leonard Fwa traces how God granted His greatest commendation to Abraham, a man who performed the supreme act of obedience. Fwa then explores the path toward experiencing Gods commendations and the blessings that come when one sacrifices, gives to others, lives by faith, practices obedience, engages in acts of service, forgives others, and remains immersed in prayer and Gods Word.

Each of the nine chapters in this study addresses an element of the life of faith. The discussions remain deeply rooted in the Scripturesboth Old and New Testamentswhile touching the challenges and concerns that face Christians living amid the worlds distractions and temptations. Examples from the ministries of House on the Rock Church, rooted in Nigeria, provide illustrations applying these insights to daily life and ministry.

If you have a deep sense that God has a purpose for your life, that He wants to give meaning to your days, and that His calling may lead you to follow Jesus Christ, you can find the powerful and energizing guidance you need to live in obedience to the will of God and thereby receive His abundant blessings.

    Foreword

Many are called but few are chosen!

A great reason why the world is in a quagmire of existence, despite its statistics of varying degrees and respects. A significant portion of its component, is unable to unbundle the mystery of life, the meaning of life, and grasping a graphic view of the path of desire to fulfilment.

Life was never intended to be an illusion, and neither a misnomer. Navigating our life’s boat through the fierce winds and seas of vicissitudes of life, is an ever daunting task. Challenging as it may, it’s a course of life all and sundry must need travel as the only validity of being counted amongst the living.

You need more than nugget to make it through life, as life is not a dress rehearsal, but a full mortal combat. The ditches on both sides of the road of life are littered with the shattered dreams of the simpletons, the naïve, and the unbelieving. You cannot afford to be at the bottom of the food chain of this life, whereas you were created for the top of it.

As I live life, I get to realize daily, that life is not unfair to anybody, but whereas some chose to take their destinies into their hands, fighting, and bleeding their way to the top; others sit back guessing, watching, and waiting for their fantasies to turn into realities. Your decision to have this book in your hand is your sure step toward having your dreams come true, and as such, I counsel you not to let this book go until you’ve juiced out its content into your soul to quench the thirst of your search for answers to life’s puzzle.

    Introduction

Welcome to ‘This Thing.’ This publication couldn’t have come in any better time than now. I sincerely ask for your commitment throughout this rewarding journey. God is so kind to breath His breathe upon this book to bless you.

Friend, I want you to know that, we are special beings created by God in His image for His pleasure; blessed and endowed with abilities to live in full capacity for the purpose of our creator. Any man that considers himself the poorest being on earth, will see that he can at least breath in and out, sleep, and wake up, and also enjoy the same sun and moon, light and darkness together with those he thinks are richer. Therefore, the conclusion of the matter is that, man is a blessed being, and this is by the grace of God.

But why are we living in want of many things, or does God really care about our situations? If He does, why can’t He open the flood gates of heaven, and rain down His abundance on us? Well, this book has answered these questions, and many more. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His plans
