    CHAPTER SYNOPSES

Chapter 1 An Affair to Remember

This opening chapter highlights one of the most talked about women in Israel, Bathsheba. By looking at the enormous shame of her adultery with the king, readers will see how their lives must also overcome difficult circumstances.

Chapter 2 Dying for a Drop

This chapter zeroes in on the living water Christ describes to the woman at the well. Readers will identify with the woman’s tattered past and will find hope that although they may not have their lives completely together, that is no prerequisite for God healing them in the midst of their complicated lives.

    Chapter 3 Maternal Madness

This chapter brings into focus the unreal dilemma that Mary, mother of Jesus, faced. Teenager. Pregant out-of-wedlock. Impregnated by God Himself. Readers will vividly see how Mary had to overcome mockery, disbelief, and scorn by virtually everyone she was around.

Chapter 4 From Hopeless To Hopeful

This chapter takes into account what all of us have done from time to time…lied a time or two. However, God uses Rahab, a prostitute, right in her own house, a house full of broken vows and deceitful dreams, and allows Rahab to lie in order to save His own children. It is because of Rahab’s occupation that God uses her for his divine purpose.

Chapter 5 And the House Was Filled

Chapter five looks at the person of Mary of Bethany and examines how God truly sees us in our honesty. By incorporating honesty above all else into our lives, God uses that as a fragrance or aroma of sweetness that can permeate our entire lives as well as those around us.

Chapter 6 Living on a Fringe

This chapter talks about the woman who bled for twelve years. Scripture says that Jesus healed this unknown woman from her sickness as well as her suffering. Readers will find comfort in the fact that they are not alone in their isolation and shame. The woman who bled for twelve years remains a constant reminder that if we are willing we can be healed
