    ACT 1

    Scene 1

[Monzemba is returning home with a friend, after a drinking binge. He finds his wife standing in the lounge; having packed her possessions, ready to leave the house]

Monzemba[Opening the door and entering with his friend Ekanga]:

Hi sweetie [She does not react. He goes close to her for a kiss]. Hi honey.

    Kayowa:

Stop. Don’t touch me. Who is your honey? Your sweetie?

    Monzemba:

What! Baby. You can’t ask me that! What’s happening?

    Kayowa:

’t’s what you can see now. That’s what’s happening. Can’t you see?

    Monzemba:

    What?

    Kayowa:

You’ll see when’ll already be gone.

    Monzemba:

See what, honey? Why all these brief cases in the lounge?

This…this…why…why…what are you doing? And the kids?

Kayowa[Lifting one brief case and forcing her exit by pushing her husband away.]

Let me go. Let me go. Stay with your kids and your house. I am going to get re-married to another man; a loving; a responsible and a capable man. I am tired with a good for nothing husband like you who never stays at home and treats me like her sofa warmer while my libido is kept at bay.

    Mozemba:

But, what is this? Darling, wait a bit. I, I am failing to understand your actions! Or perhaps I have become deaf or else blind. You want to go and get re-married? Is that what you said?

    Kayowa:

    Certainly.

    Mozemba:

    To who?

    Kayowa:

To a man like you. But not exactly like you, because he’s performing in everything__especially in the domain that his wife would wish the most of performances.

    Monzemba[Looking at his friend]

    Do you hear that?

    Ekanga:

Pathetic. But have your senses chilled, my brother. Don’t react
