PREFACE
W e are always looking for answers to our existence. We want to find out more about ourselves, who we are, where are we coming from, and where we are going. We are all looking for healing, which means more than the fulfillment and realization of our desires and our own experience of well-being. Through healing, we can uncover our true self.
As you follow me in this journey, we are going to identify ways in which we are all equal. At the same time, we will discover our differences and uniqueness reflected in our past, present, and future experiences.
In our human journey, our conscious attention is directed at the inner or outer part of ourselves according to the priorities of the moment. In reality, the inner or outer part of ourselves is just a convenient way to name the place where we utilize the tools of our attention and our intention in the conscious search of the healing of our human experience.
We are powerful. Our power depends on where we consciously place our attention and our intention. It is time to let go of what we no longer need and direct our attention and our intention to better possibilities that are now more than ever available. It is time to allow ourselves to more consciously create our reality so that we can empower the magic of co-creation.
Balance is a cornerstone of our deepest feelings of identification with the divine. We are looking for more love in ourselves and our reality, and although this search never ends, it is always available and fulfilling.
Since I was young, my tendency has been to look into myself, mainly to satisfy my yearning for feelings and my goal of more love. I have always sought to embrace healing, well-being, success, and abundance. I have been looking for webs that are more positive. Every day, I have become more grateful for all the challenges within the states of my being that have turned into assets during my own healing.
You are also looking for healing, for enjoyment and success in your journey in this reality of time and space. Unfortunately, our tendency is to pay more attention to the outer or the inner part of ourselves, without realizing that we are the ones who are doing the dancing. We expect that once we achieve the symbols or illusions of what we consider success, we will enjoy fulfillment and self-realization. It is time to realize that regardless of the metaphors or illusions we employ, we can always reestablish our power and utilize the illusions for an experience of joy and integration instead of expecting them to be the source of our fulfillment.
We forget the power of our imagination. We forget the power of our dreams. Ironically, all the time and anytime, we are imagining the reality of our experiences, including the solidity of our world. Unfortunately, we forget that we are the source of all of our created experiences. We can say that we are our own creator who is imagining the entire reality, including the power that has been granted to us by the divine to imagine and cocreate with responsibility and according to our freedom, love, and will.
The conscious lucidity of our dreams helps us to get in touch with the power of our imagination, including the power that we have to create the idea and reality of our material world. Examples of how successful beings are able to bring the future into the present—exploring, identifying, and vividly imagining the future—are present in any culture, in any time in history, in any moment, in any place where human beings exist.
As you read the chapters of my book, I am sure you will become more conscious of your power and capacity to empower yourself, and therefore be able to hope, expect, celebrate, and be grateful for the future that awaits you. Our futures and our tools are within our reach, right here, dormant and ready to be awakened.
If we become more conscious of our spirituality, if we recognize that we are spiritual beings in disguise, we will be able not only to heal ourselves in a very successful way but also to contribute to the change and healing of universes that are waiting to be discovered. Gratitude, reverence, sacredness, and the experience and worship of the divinity within us unconditionally offer positive webs for health, well-being, success, and abundance.
CHAPTER
1
OUR HEALTH, WELL-BEING, SUCCESS, AND ABUNDANCE
We are the light, we are the darkness, and we are one.
We are within the totality, and the totality is within ourselves.
W ell-being can be described as a state of health. There are always states of health that indicate more well-being, and only you can define the unique representation and meaning of well-being, abundance, and success in your own life.
When we speak about well-being, health, abundance, and success, we need to understand that it is natural to strive for them in each of our four bodies: the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Although we share in a consensus understanding of well-being, health, abundance, and success, at the core of ourselves is a unique need for whatever these qualities represent for each one of us.
During my life, including in my practice of medicine, I have not been able to find the same state of health, illness, or well-being in any two patients. Although I can describe the similarities according to codes, symptoms, changes in the body, and many other parameters, the reality is that the expression of that illness or well-being is different, unique, and based upon the state of consciousness of the patient. In a like manner, if for a moment we look at what success and abundance represent for each one of us, again we must conclude that it is unique according to our state of mind, awareness, or consciousness.
Deep inside of us, there is a state of consciousness in which we believe 100 percent of what reality represents. In that moment, we are 100 percent in agreement with reality—unless we become aware that we are in charge of our consciousness. Then, magically and mysteriously, we understand that we are the creators of our own reality. The more we get in touch with the power of our consciousness, the more well-being, abundance, and success we can create.
My purpose is not to enter into a philosophical discussion of the meaning of life but simply to state that in our reality, we are not only the experiencer but also the experience and the process of experience.
Our state of health, well-being, abundance, and success is truly an experience and therefore part of our unique reality. If we allow ourselves to be conscious that any experience we perceive is a product of our creation, we can empower ourselves to continue our process of joy, healing, abundance, and success.
The diversity and complexity of our lives is always expanding, but at the core is simplicity, and part of that simplicity is the fact that life is just an experience. We are in charge of that experience, and we can change that experience. Let us keep in mind that our well-being, health, success, and abundance, although complex, are not complicated but very simple.
We can always change the experience and therefore change the reality of our well-being, health, success, and abundance. In order for us to change the experience, it is vital that we let go of the experience we no longer desire and make a space for the new experience.
The logic of our life—and, as a consequence, the logic of our experience—is unique. It is based on our conditioning but also on
