26510.pngThis book is dedicated to my family:
To the parents, grandparents, and great-
grandparents who told me to follow my dreams &
who have loved me unconditionally since day one.
To my husband who has been brave when I couldn’t
be, there when most wouldn’t be, & who I love
having next to me every day of my life!
To my little brother, who reminds me how precious
life is on a daily basis. I hope you know how bright
your little light is and continue to let it shine! (He is

Introduction|
I have many personal reasons for wanting to take control of my own health. I can also look at the world around me and see the effect that we have on the earth; which in turn directly affects the lives of those around us. We have all heard the saying you are what you eat;
but what about the health and beauty products we use on a regular basis?
When I began doing research about the ingredients in the products I bought for my health and beauty needs, there were several ingredients I couldn’t pronounce; much less define. I quickly discovered that those ingredients were toxic, and the non-toxic ingredients made up a very small percentage of the active ingredients list. The vast majority of the ingredients were associated with various warnings. Such as: known carcinogenic,
if swallowed contact poison control,
and has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease!
I also spent some time studying at an eco-friendly cosmetology school known for their clean water
campaigns. During this time of my life I was taught how our health and beauty products have toxic chemicals in them that seep into our water supply; which has a direct impact on our environment.
While all of this information may seem overwhelming, the solutions are extremely simple. You, as the consumer, can begin investing your money in all natural, hand-made products, or learn how to make your own. Done! Problem solved!!
It may take a little bit of effort on your part, to find the recipes and products online or from locals in your community.
