About this ebook

This book is written from a personal perspective of an individual addressing life issues and obstacles that we are to overcome with a spiritual insight into life. On from various points of starting out with having no opportunity, to making opportunities and having to make more major moves in life, and make further changes which has resulted from changing from ones own perspective into following the word of God in a very practical and realistic way. All of this insight from a boy from the ghetto who had much turmoil in his family circumstances, and had no real good guidance from people and explaining into finding out through personal experiences that God is the only way through this life. This is a compilation of true life experiences and lessons learned in an effort to assist and guide the next man or woman, girl or boy, whether young or old to have reading pleasure and hopefully not a too upsetting experience, to eventually reach the point of their own truth in their own life to reach the point of peace and serenity.

If you have seen at least one emotion of which you can relate to on the first page, it means that you are also susceptible to similar emotions that other people may also experience. The intention of this book is to hopefully get you to a higher level of understanding one another, to hopefully be at peace with yourself and with others, of what you know of yourself, rather than concentrating on how others may affect you in your life. It all starts with having your own close, personal relationship with God, but not for you to have a relationship with God just to be successful. Do it, if you just want to live a good and wholesome life, with meaning and purpose. You don’t need to forward any chain mail or perform some sort of ritual or anything else of that sort. I just want to testify on the goodness of God in the many events of my life, and hopefully, others would take notice and cognisance of Him working in their lives as well. This is a compilation of my interpretations of my life’s experiences and teachings of which I have learned and I am still learning about God in my life. A concept I have thought of, which I can only try to explain, share, and possibly, with my effort to help others make sense of their life too. Sometimes I touch on bit of business acumen, sometimes on some street knowledge, but altogether the differences we may see and the similarities we may have to address one another a little better. These are entirely my interpretations and may sometimes sound whacky or zany, but it’s the way that I see it. I try to express my thoughts in idealistic and hopefully optimistic ways, but it must be realistic. This is my attempt to possibly look at things hopefully from different points of view in order to try and gain some understanding for most types of situations we may encounter. I will try to discuss different situations and scenarios from different angles that we may find ourselves in, but I don’t think I will be able to cover it all.

It is possible to perform at a higher level in your life and function properly in this (so-called) modern world, with all its confusion. All this is possible through the love of God and knowing the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE). This is the basis of this book and how you could relate practically with your little actions performed in your daily life. If you can really believe that the power of God is the most powerful force you can have in your life and that He can lift you up and out of anything, big or small, then you can begin to live your life by faith. Not just to get there by faith alone but by actively doing or changing little actions in your daily life, which may get you to a place where you need to be in order to receive your own unique blessings for your life for the individual plans of your life. Not to just live for what we believe in, what we may see and hear but to also believe in the unseen or the not realised yet. We all have the ability within each and every one of us to be a success, if we really put the effort into getting things right to actually start doing it. I attempt to think of ways to practically handle and deal with most situations in a Christian-like manner and in ways which hopefully may not be offensive or too aggressive in possibly handling these difficult matters. If we are aware of our Bible teachings and of parables, we could also find that they may have some similarity to what may happen in our daily lives. We could relate our situations to similar parables in the Bible which we have read about, and we could also realise a possible outcome based on the right actions we ought to take on and about our approach of handling them. This isn’t necessarily only for myself to explore in trying to understand, but my intention is for others to also possibly explore the different realms in life that do exist.

Colour cubes refer to an example of a person’s feelings, which we all have, or moods, in the example of the different colours on a colour puzzle cube, emotions of which all of us share, yet people express themselves differently due to their own lives’ experiences or having that emotion in a different place in their life. Colour cubes are not meant to be taken as literally but more in a metaphorical sense. We may all start our lives with the emotions on a blank cube and fill it in with that necessary colour as we go through that experience. The more we may learn to address, overcome, and handle that emotion is when we store that colour. Some places should remain blank, although some may not have that choice as there are some experiences that we may find ourselves forced into. It’s not for another person to just be led blindly into that bad circumstance. There are light and dark colours but colourful all the more, looking at and trying to understand the similar and different dimensions of a person. In my concept, each person has a combination of all the different emotions that we all experience and is made up of a colour cube. We may be born into a mixed up situation, with mixed up emotions, and the more we can try to sort out our own issues to get some order, the more we try to attain peace in our lives. We can become out of touch with or we might be in tune with certain different emotions, dependent on what frame of mind we may be at that time. I refer to each of our emotions as a colour-cubed block of mixed emotions and trying to sort them out to try to find some order and peace in your life with actions. Some people are born directly into broken homes and, therefore, will live out the behaviour of their broken lives. We are all very much capable of achieving the same things, if we believe that we can, but it’s just that most of us don’t believe it and possibly live on the one side of the cube. The colours represent the different degrees of circumstances in our lives, some good, some bad depending, because not all of life is just black and white. There is a grey area of life which people do explore and act upon. Sometimes we can’t see some things right in front of us because if we stand too close to something, we tend to look the other way, right past it, never getting to look directly at it. This of which I am referring to is the truth, which exists in any and/or all situations, often messed up by misperceptions, rationale, and assumptions. If there is a good way and a bad way of approaching a situation, why not try the best possible approach, and if all else fails, then you may be only left with that one last option. Don’t allow the wrong emotions to get in the way. It’s like the truth in our lives is a long river we need to join, which is leading to an ocean of abundance planned for our lives, yet people choose to live in the little puddles of existence in the world alongside the river or close enough to it but never really getting right into it, into the right place. There is no love or power that exists which is greater than God’s love and power. If you can believe that God is greater than any situation, circumstance, person, community, even country, then allow Him the opportunity to work His miracles in your life. No matter the circumstance, God wants to be able to work with you, and on you, on what your heart may desire in life.

This book relates to the vast different perceptions of people and the similarities of habits and the changes of the frame of mind of a person from understanding (e.g. the creativity and appreciation of music or any other types of art, appreciation of traditional music versus hip hop culture versus classical culture) what one individual encounters in society or perceives as their lifestyles or may have a deeper meaning to them as shared with others and this may be opposed to others.

I start from art because that is what most people use to inspire ourselves. Art imitates life; life imitates art, like a mirror. I say this because what is interpreted in the creation of art may be of an innovative influence in our lives, sometimes, which can be made up of a dream or a fantasy which a person may have at first share and depicted eventually for all to see or to hear. It may be an expression of which may not actually be truly done in real life, but some people are more than necessarily willing to explore those ideas and of the influence of which it may be depicted from, either through words, a picture, music, movies, etc. Life definitely influences art as people may see things differently in that way, and art is definitely made up of all the elements of life. Both good and bad, joy and pain elements of life are interpreted in different ways. Art is often the imitating and duplicating of human emotion to the point where its authenticity no longer becomes relevant for us. Authenticity should always be a part of who we are as a human being. If we are not sure of it, then we might chase a pipe dream which doesn’t exist, offering an alternative lifestyle full of smoke and mirrors. Some of us may be influenced by art and some may not. We have to be realistic of what influence it may already have in our lives.

On the opposite sides of society, some people don’t understand or comprehend those other types of concepts. This could be because of people sharing those similar experiences of growing up in similar circumstances, causing that sort of stereotype situation. In my opinion, an artist is a person subjected to the same persecutions as many other people but tries to show in expressions of beauty and laughter, etc., which may not necessarily be natural to them but are too susceptible of falling into the bad spaces in their lives whilst still trying to overcome them. This growing up in a similar environment/s causes a divide in society as behaviour which is opposed to those stereotypes are conflicted in the understanding of one another’s value systems, yet we all share the same emotions. We just live on different sides of the world, hence my concept of the colour cube.

We all start off existing in our natural environment’s circumstances, and some choose to remain victims of it or feel that they don’t have a choice whilst others branch out into new environments, seeking difference of circumstances by choice, and others are ousted against their will. Whatever the circumstance, we all have different, real God-given purposes for our individual lives, which we have to personally seek. This difference of people and their outlooks are a necessity for the world to function because if we all have done the same things in our lives, it would definitely leave us in an unbalanced situation. We, therefore, start out our lives by predetermining ourselves by behaving and acting as a stereotype and possibly not reaching our true potential through our actions which may be limiting ourselves. We are limited by allowing only certain actions for us to do, and not to do, when we choose to be governed by our certain set of rules, from our community, enforcing that type of stereotypical behaviour in our everyday life. Instead of being governed by stereotype rules, we should govern ourselves with our conscience. Let our conscience be our guide, with our heart and mind being open to the Lord.

We are all born into this world, mostly as equal in human capabilities and understandings; the only difference is in which area or spectrum of the world we are born into. Some are born into fortunate situations and some are unfortunate, but if we can try really hard to improve on our individual lives, we can make our lives equally just as good as one another’s. In order for a person to understand and be understood by others, one must practice to speak and act in a way that is proper and clear enough for the other person to understand. When you speak in a stereotype manner, then only the few that will know what you are saying will understand you. Not being able to express yourself properly to the broader public possibly leaves you to be misunderstood by some and possibly mistreated by them too. In my attempts in this book, I try to break down some of the stereotypes we encounter in our lives, to possibly see it from a different point of view, to eventually realise that we are all the same as human beings but we just come from different places, and to account for the various different ways we are made up all in God’s plans.

We might also have the circumstance where a person may have been brought up in one type of environment all their life and has the different experience of how the other half lives. Depending on the person, they may or may not like it, but for my example, I will say that it might evoke something in that person which might have lain dormant in them. I have seen a whole change in some persons where they might have possibly lived sheltered lives, do a 180-degree turn in their life, and choose another whole different type of lifestyle to the one they were accustomed to, either for the better circumstance or for the worse. By sheltered lives, I mean either living in a good or a bad environment and not being exposed to more different things in life. The change seems to be permanent, and this shows that change really does happen and it is possible for people to do if they really do decide to put enough effort into that something they may really want to do.

Our objective as human beings should be to help our children and other people in becoming productive and fully functional as a person in society, with us being mindful to also experience and encounter the exception always, which should only be a few. Realistically, good elements can’t exist without bad elements, vice versa. Our approach to one another should be of a decent nature to one another at first, and if we are then finding it difficult, then be stern to stand firm, re-enforcing your position, than to just immediately resort to bad actions. A bad seed may be produced from bad actions, and a blessing can grow onwards from a blessing. Some people don’t feel that they are worthy of much as they may have not been treated respectfully by others as a human being, therefore justifying doing bad actions to others. In fact, I can take it a step further to say some people have been treated as lesser than a human being. If we address the stereotypical behaviours of an individual, we might find they have valid isolated issues related to him/her. It really should start within ourselves first, and then we can also do that for others. Once we can do that for ourselves, then we won’t have to tolerate disrespect again. We must know that sometimes the fault may also be with us too. We should master the art of diplomacy, in that we can say what we want in a way that is understood, and we can all move along from there peacefully. Lots of people suffer in this world unnecessarily at the cost of inconsiderate others. People suffer under other people who are self-absorbed in their own power and problems. We should not put another person on a pedestal by disregarding ourselves. Instead of them taking care of their foundations around them and building up from there, they always choose to take the hugest chunks for themselves. One of the saddest things is to see a person who has been blessed with much abundance only waste it all away on a bad habit or have much given to them unappreciatively and still take lots for granted around them. God wants us to look and feel good about ourselves in order to be open to Him, in order to receive joy in our lives.

When we are born into this world, we may not really know our purpose or direction. We just find out as we exist, and as we go along, that if this is the way things are, then we try to go along with it, but some people also have the feeling that it’s not meant for us at all.

The so-called rejects of society. This is mostly depicted and experienced and enforced by man’s perceptions. Sometimes if we don’t know ourselves and why we do the things we do, then who will understand? We are all individually at different points in our lives, and we therefore may all have different views and outlooks. You have got to search to find out and know who you really are (not assume that you are) and at which point in your life that you really are in order to function properly in this world. We have to know what we stand for and what we are about and also have to accept that sometimes we are very different to others, but that’s what I believe will make us unique and stand out as individuals. A person has to constantly have a need to seek to grow as an individual, especially in the areas in their life where they may be lacking of certain qualities, which they may possibly need to get to the next level of their life, if they make the choice to improve on it. Don’t live inside the boxes of what other people may create and think of you to live a safe life not to rock the boat of their perception of you. Is there really such of a thing as a safe existence? Don’t give in to people and the games they play, but rather try to live forthright. Other people’s opinions might matter to a certain degree, depending on the industry that you might work in, but in my opinion, life is really about the person that you truly are, especially in the times of adversity when it really matters. We should not allow ourselves to take on opinions and be reduced to other people’s opinions by limiting ourselves. God tests you to see if you are really worthy to enter His kingdom by putting you in a favourable position and sees if you are able to handle it. We must admit that we do get a great idea now and again. The only difference with success is one person who is willing to hold on to that idea and go with it and the other person loses their focus and forgets the idea. We are always faced with trials and temptations and have to handle it with care. If you may think back, you may have prayed for that position and may have eventually got it. There are other forces out there that work against you, and sometimes people choose to go along with those forces as it seems too hard to fight alone. It’s not about what we own or how much we have or are in control of around us but more about what we are responsible for. We should be more in control of ourselves and of our emotions and have the responsibility that we show towards our family, friends, and community, both local and global, which is more important than what we own.

The most valuable thing in this world is time, not money. It is like we never have enough time to do the things we need to and we can’t go back to fix past mistakes, but we do have much more time in front of us of which we can make it more valuable and useful and not so much of a loss any more. Money is not necessarily a bad thing to have, if it is accumulated in a proper and forthright manner, and it is also not a shame to have it either, but it is the love of money that makes the huge difference in the world. One should know its real value and treat it as such. Money is sometimes painful to part with, when we have to pay it in large amounts, but it’s also sweeter when we also receive it in larger amounts. I say the most valuable thing is time because it is how we spend our time which determines the type of person that we really are and of the values that we have. Do we spend our time focusing on caring for others and showing responsibility for our environment, or do we choose to focus to spend time more on only what we want and get out of everything for ourselves? God sees it all, and it doesn’t matter what you will say, rather it will show more in what you have done—that says a lot about the person that you really are. It is the love of money which is the root of all evil, and if we really break it down, some people are willing to do almost anything to get it. We can also have our precious time taken away from us for possibly committing an offense, and it was probably for something that goes against our own character, just for the temptation of quick money. We can spend our time wisely and productively with a proper intention in mind and accumulate forthright wealth whilst performing our task/s and by not only being focused on the money part of it but rather more on the quality of work that we are trying to achieve. Rather than just considering what we do as just a job, we should strive for excellence for all to help us grow. Time seems to fly by especially when we may
