About this ebook
However, one day I came to understand life. I came to understand why things happened to me in the past. I came to understand why things are happening to me now, and I came to understand what to expect in the future.
A person gets hit by a car and survives. Or a person skydives from ten thousand feet, their parachute doesnt open, and yet they survive. People are quick to say that that person was lucky. They werent lucky. Luck had nothing to do with it. They survived because they were saved by God. I too have a story like that to tell.
On November 3, 1984, I was walking home on the shoulder of a road when I was hit from behind by a car. I suffered seven fractures to my left leg, four fractures to my pelvis, and a closed head injury. I spent three weeks in a coma, four weeks connected to a lifesupport machine, seven months in the hospital, and two and a half years in rehabilitation.
I eventually came out of coma, and I recovered to a point where I could live a normal life, although I lost my sense of smell due to my brain damage. I did this because I was saved by God, not because I was lucky. That experience gave me a greater appreciation of life and an incredible desire to seek a relationship with God. I have achieved both, and both have been inspirational in the poems I have written. I hope that you will enjoy them. God bless you.
George Schnaider
My full name is George Alexander Schnaider. I was born May 6, 1960, in Toronto, Canada. In my life, I have had the opportunity to experience many journeys and many adventures, both good and bad. I am very grateful to God for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon me, for his guidance, and for all the times that he has saved me—more than I am aware of, I’m sure. It is my belief that people generally take life too much for granted. People do not appreciate the reality that they are in, nor do they understand the opportunity that they have been given.

Fragile Reality - George Schnaider
The Meaning of Love
Love is offering aid,
To a stranger who’s in need.
Love is mending the wounds,
When your enemy starts to bleed.
Love is understanding,
If a friend begins to cry.
With love you find remorse,
For those who can’t get by.
Love is sacrificing,
So others may find joy.
Love is swallowing pride,
And not acting like a boy.
To love is to forgive,
Other people’s mistakes.
From love comes compassion,
For victims of bad breaks,
Love is living each day,
To enjoy life, and have fun.
Love is finding the way,
To live together as one.

Glory to evil, hatred and pain.
Programs designed to service the vain.
Judgement that spawns from media shows.
Mind controlled choices of friends and foes.
Many victories claimed through deceit.
Lots of deals offered that can’t be beat.
Commercialism to the extreme.
Outlets for mankind’s financial schemes.
Imitation idols and heroes.
Guidelines to influence how man grows.
Shows meant for man’s mental containment.
Passed onto us as entertainment.
35902.pngThe Fortunes of Life
Resting on beaches of golden sand.
Bathing in warmth, with drink in hand,
Peace seemingly at your command,
Enjoying music played by a band.
You gaze upon a sunset sky.
Its colours are indulging each eye.
Their soothing tones ignite a sigh.
The view tempts you to start to cry.
Waves roll onto the beach with grace.
Compelling the sand to displace.
The sound of calm consumes the space.
A smile’s birth comes to your face.
Night air accented with a breeze.
