My first published work was Transitions 1941 a book on historical political economics and philosophy which is registered on Amazon.com. This second published work is my artistic side. My back ground is political science and I attended California Poly University with a major in Political Science Public administration. My background did, and does color my thinking. I do hope, like I said, you will enjoy Patterns With A Twist.

This book is dedicated to my friends and their struggle with life. Some that come to light: Tory Fenner, Denise Galich, Elide Guideon, my brother, Douglas that passed, and Astrid Anderson, all who faced the struggle with life. Special thanks to my friend Jim Rae who has helped so much.
I also like to specially thank Carol Nicoara (Nicoaracg@aol.com, Nicoaraaa@aol.com) for helping me put this book together.
Thoughts In The Corner
In the dark corner of the universe, in any small room anywhere, the shamrocks of the occasion are obvious.
Knowing is sometimes obvious like a mirror with refractions on the wrong side. It is a bit like carrying our delusions to their ends, circles upon circles ended only by time.
Look at the faces of mankind as flames spirited by some sense of cognitive past.
It is all viewed as all-right as notions of passing time. These are only echoes of the notions and rhymes of the mind, not guided but drifting, but not aimless and with definite purpose yet defined.
We will only know in the extant of time.
The Winds Of Truth
In that realm of deceit that the world revels in is the betrayal of its own character renown.
Notions released about parallel points that signify nothing except being.
There are short times revered only in a shallow breath and are then forgotten.
The dust of what was is just that no-more.
The signal of truth is not solely in majority rule, for that is directed by the wind.
Truth is round and recirculation, with time changes but always stays the same that is truth.
War And Remembrance
Remembering is reflective of the attitude of September 11.
Rise of an emerging flag reinvented throughout history.
The history of human ambitions.
Designed for the future, propagated in the past.
Instigated in the present, ambivalent and sensitive.
In time honored loved and revered. That is war. This is remembrance.
Quandry
Standing in the center you see all sides
Four corners of the great divide.
Touching the same but different points.
Understanding only reflections of each side.
Not knowing which to embrace or where to hide.
Honor And Destiny
Betrayed disillusioned and honored
Arms linked separated by time, space, history.
Destiny lies in each step, though paths are parted in time.
Some left and some to the left.
Some never known.
Non departed always and forever.
Brothers and sisters ever bound under God.
All under the flag.
Black Hole
Of all the things in time
Nothing compares
Nothing denies
All the things we see hear and believe.
Nothing can compare, with those that dare.
To stretch that thought.
That few men achieve
And none comprehend.
Rebellion
There is a bomb in the mind of man
It ticks in some celestial’s zone.
Creates perimeters monitored by watch dogs sent from above.
Telling us right from wrong.
Left from right.
Where are we?
Merely practiced on ourselves by ourselves.
Sin
Foibles in our heads
Redeemed and lost
Forgotten and not
Life’s little indiscretions, unredeemed in time.
Though forgiven they are not
Forces of judgment, and the yearn for grace.
Floaters
Things of dissention
Unsettled thoughts of the mind
Imprinted on the soul.
Living
Reflections of wisdom and grace
Life’s beauty bound in God’s hands
Breathe and live along simple strands
Know your limits and respect the land.
Wisdom
The wisdom of knowing when to wait and when to strike.
Little truths that live within lies.
Small lies that masquerade as truth.
Knowing what to believe.
Stand and wait to strike a blow.
This is wisdom.
Simply Truth
To the end that we drive, spare no expense
Lines in my hands skewed with time.
Looking for meaning in other people’s eyes
Seeing souls as seemly as mine
Lost in their own twine
Meaning and reason lost in their rhymes.
Truth lost in time.
Meet the value of your rhyme.
History
Things gone, not remembered
Extant in time
Unencumbered by itself.
Set in motion by itself
Objects not yet remembered.
And at that moment we reach to far, crumble fall and forget
Only to repeat another time.
Access Denied
To the end of directions denied
Casting lots against stone walls
Crevices of thought etched in stone
Blasted by sand extant in the mind
Answers equaled only by muted demise.
Beginnings
Life like starts are a circle
Temperate in the mind
Boundless in concept
Put to the test at only one point
Transforms idle thought into action.
Promise into deeds
To mean anything Bit must be followed up
And it is only remembered when completed.
Then wait to start again.
California Heat
Flames in the heart land
Lives put to the test
Fortunes for the gamble, ashes on the chest.
Children are crying, elderly upset
Smoke in the atmosphere, ashes in your bed.
Fire or water wind the test
Tempest like a casino all lit up, but not for the best.
Riches to rags, homes to tents
What is high one minute is low the next.
Feel for the animals where do they rest
Now no-one has a place to rest.
The Champion
Once there was a man
Who held fate in his hands
Delivered his destiny on taunt.
Compassion unbridled
His path largely untraveled
Echoes of designs in his dreams
The thorn in his side he did not abide and went on to
Fulfill his dreams.
In the end he did lose for the body does choose.
But people remember his dreams.
Time
Times of chorus long remembered
Like waxed string burning down
Can’t we see the smoldering ambers.
A glowing past unbound.
Decisions made knock the pendulum
Movement swings upon the sand
Like the breath of Gods notions, revealed in the swing of time.
The Toss
Endless dreams of eternal passing
Fellow travelers along the way
Nodding in their own special way
Special notions of right and wrong
Decided by the toss of a coin.
Wise eagles facing to the sky.
Hopeful eyes open wide.
Which silver side will ride on high
With luck you will decide, which path is high.
Humor And Doom
There was a time when jokes and folly
Buried all sorrows in light and jolly
Things accomplished non-the less in a better frame of jest.
When these things are forgotten things get rotten
Often people take it to the chest.
So take it to heart don’t be an old fart
Things will turn out for the best.
Journey
For reasons unknown
We seek the sign
Trying to figure out the great divide
Customs between us that unify
Differences that defy the humanity that makes us ask why.
The Nitch
Footsteps in the course of time, limiting thoughts divine
Castings stones on the water’s edge
Depths of fear seem far—fetched, yet stuck in a rut with fear as a friend. Looking for the door
Trying to comprehend the scratching at the other end.
The Fool
There is a room of never-ending tales, configured in the mind of dismissive scope.
Caught in his own world he moves about as in a fog not seeing his
