About this ebook
A person gets hit by a car and survives. Or a person skydives from ten thousand feet, their parachute doesnt open, and yet they survive. People are quick to say that that person was lucky. They werent lucky. Luck had nothing to do with it. They survived because they were saved by God. I too have a story like that to tell.
On November 3, 1984, I was walking home on the shoulder of a road when I was hit from behind by a car. I suffered seven fractures to my left leg, four fractures to my pelvis, and a closed head injury. I spent three weeks in a coma, four weeks connected to a life-support machine, seven months in the hospital, and two and a half years in rehabilitation. I eventually came out of coma, and I recovered to a point where I could live a normal life, although I lost my sense of smell due to my brain damage. I did this because I was saved by God, not because I was lucky. That experience gave me a greater appreciation of life and an incredible desire to seek a relationship with God. I have achieved both, and both have been inspirational in the poems I have written. I hope that you will enjoy them. God bless you.

Heaven Is Forever
For people who treat people kind.
For those who seek to guide the blind.
The ones that offer peace of mind.
The reward will be there to find.
Suffering children and the weak.
Poor people in lives that seem bleak.
Followers whom God’s words they speak.
They’ll find the treasure that they seek.
The men and women who believe.
Who choose from faith to never leave.
God’s grace they try hard to achieve.
Forgiveness is what they receive.
For everyone who rejects sin.
To all who refuse to give in.
Those who greet evil with a grin.
They are the people who will win.
For glorifiers who obey.
The sons and daughters that don’t stray.
All those who take the time to pray.
Will be blessed with God’s gift one day.

You look up at a sky filled with starlight eyes.
Suspending above you on a worldwide screen.
A gentle evening breeze plays off the trees.
An angelic concerto with notes from a dream.
The air’s scent is fine, flavored with fresh pine.
God’s country comes together like a slow jazz song.
Every sound and movement has its moment.
This world is the place where you feel you belong.
Buried in peace, your anxieties cease.
For a moment, time feels like it stopped just for you.
The joy that you yield abandons its shield.
You lose touch with the things that make you blue.
The world moves in time, like a heavenly rhyme.
Her beauty tears the coat of ice from your heart.
The luxury of her serenity.
A gallery for the spectacle of Mother’s art.
Natural chimes help to relax your mind.
Your spirit gets warmed with a comfortable ease.
Your monkey holds title of flunky.
The ghosts in your closet seem to all be at peace.
The thrill of paradise is incredibly nice.
For a while you bathed in tranquility’s shine.
Now your troubled soul is locked in cruise control.
A subtle gift from a companion divine.

There is a world of happiness,
A place without despair.
