    PREFACE

As I sat, I wondered, What will I say?

Then The Lord spoke! He said, Worry not, for I am with you. My rod and staff will comfort you during this time. You are My sheep, and you hear My voice.

It was only then that I realized, more than ever before, that I was not alone as I walked this path, and that I was accompanied by the Great Almighty and Heavenly Father, God. He sent His Only Son, Jesus, so that I might not have to perish but would have eternal life. This is the life He gave me: a life to follow my dreams, to pursue the goals that He has placed in me, to live purposefully. I have life to write, teach, and counsel. I write because it is good for my soul. It feeds the Inner Man who longs to be fulfilled in what I am called to do. I teach because it is part of my calling and gift to bring over to those called to hear the voice of the Lord by means of the Holy Spirit through my human voice, transformed on paper. I counsel those who are lost and have not yet been found. This book is for those who have not yet discovered their purpose in this earthly life.

After reading this book, you, woman of God, daughter of Zion, will find the reason for living. You will come to the understanding that you have not been created just to live meaninglessly, but to live purposefully. You have been created to be a virtuous woman, my lady. Yes, you were created to be Ishshah Chayil!

My prayer is that God grants you the wisdom to fully understand His teaching. May God continue to guide you on the path of finding your true self. May He give you peace, and may He reveal to you your God-given purpose in this life.

If you already know your purpose in life, I thank the Almighty Father that you do. After salvation, knowing your God-given purpose is the greatest gift because it gives you an understanding regarding why you were placed here on earth. So many know and yet don’t have the drive to pursue this newfound path. Many are aware but are afraid of embarking on the first step. Yet I dare to declare that He who began a good work in you is faithful and just to complete this work in you. To whom much is given, much is required; remember that you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you!

In the Hebrew language, the name Jesus means Salvation, and the concatenated form of Jesus, is Lord Who is Salvation. The name Jesus has no intrinsic meaning in English.

Throughout this book the words Ishshah Chayil will be used. You might ask why. For this reason, I have decided to give a brief explanation on the reason for using the Hebrew name Ishshah Chayil. As you may have noticed, Ishshah Chayil is part of the title of this book: I Am Ishshah Chayil! Ishshah Chayil is simply the Hebrew translation of virtuous woman. The meaning of virtuous woman depicts all the attributes of the woman described in Proverbs 31:10-31. Some even go as far as to call the virtuous woman the Proverbs 31 woman. Why did I choose to use the Hebrew name to describe you, the woman I am addressing? It’s the closest I can get to the original power in language and wording. There is power in the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 says, The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Therefore if we declare the actual meaning of a word spoken each time we speak that word, why not let it be the original language that Jesus spoke? My hope is that you will familiarize yourself with the Hebrew language. By doing so you will be able to understand the word of God more profoundly and the power that lies within the Hebrew language.

To read a piece, to relate to it, to be able to apply where necessary to your life or at least recognize that others share your experience—that gives meaning to life. This book is inspirational and uplifting to all women. It moves the reader through the different roles of the woman and her relationship to God as she carries out her divine calling. It helps women to recognize that despite the heartaches, she is worthy and valuable and can become that virtuous woman with her special calling to fulfill her divine purpose in life.

This is a good and interesting read, a masterpiece filled with (safe to say) holy messages. With very moving and inspiring words, the author takes the reader—soon to be a virtuous woman—into the realm of the Holy Spirit. Not only is this a good read for all women who hunger for wisdom to become a daughter of the most high, but from a masculine point of view, it’s also a highly recommended work for the gentlemen who need lessons and encouragement regarding how to treat a lady, and who needs and longs to reach the level of knowing all about a woman’s worth.

    DECLARATION OF ISHSHAH CHAYIL

Who can find me? For I am a wife of noble character and my worth is far more than rubies.

My husband has full confidence in me and lacks nothing of value.

I bring him good, not harm, all the days of my life.

I select wool and flax and work with eager hands.

I am like the merchant ships, bringing my food from afar.

I get up while it is still night and provide food for my family and portions for my female servants.

I consider a field and buy it and out of my earnings I plant a vineyard.

I set about my work vigorously; my arms are strong for my tasks.

I see that my trading is profitable, and my lamp does not go out at night.

In my hand I hold the distaff and grasps the spindle with my fingers.

I open my arms to the poor and extend my hands to the needy.

When it snows, I have no fear for my household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

I make coverings for my bed; I am clothed in fine linen and purple.

My husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

I make linen garments and sell them, and supply the merchants with sashes.

I am clothed with strength and dignity; I can laugh at the days to come.

I speak with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on my tongue.

I watch over the affairs of my household and do not eat the bread of idleness.

My children arise and call me blessed; my husband also, and he praises me.

He says: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but I am woman who fears the LORD and I am to be praised.

I shall be honored for all that my hands have done, and my works will bring me praise at the city gate.

    CHAPTER 1

    Fear of the Lord

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. —Proverbs 31:30

Inviting the Lord into Your Life

A woman represents beauty. She is always associated with beauty. When you hear the word beautiful, your mind usually reminds you of the word woman. She is associated with beauty not only in the secular world,
