This book is dedicated in memory of my biological father, Orrett A. L. Mullings; my spiritual father, Bishop Henry Anderson; and my girl, my sister-friend, Elizabeth McLachlan. I miss you all dearly.
To my grandmother Lenore Mullings and my awesome parents, Barrington and Millicent Melvin, there are not enough words to express my love and gratitude for your sacrifices and support throughout the years. Thank you all.
To my spiritual leader, Pastor Alex Kinloch Jr., thank you for your critiques and feedback.
I am forever grateful to my husband, Damon, and my children, Anthony T
and Jaleesa, my special baby, for believing in me, supporting me, reading and rereading this project as it took shape, and for everything throughout the years. I love and appreciate you guys.
To my friends—Mother Dotlyn Gordon, Mrs. Sanda Carr, and Mrs. Jean Caraballo—thank you for your never-ending love, truths, support, and encouragement. You all know and understand me so well. Mrs. Maria Carlos, your contribution changed the format of this project. Thanks for your honesty.
Ms. Danielle Marsh, thank you for undertaking the overwhelming task of proofing this project.
Thanks to all the members of my natural family—the Mullingses, the Thomases, and the Glovers—and my church family at the House of Refuge. I appreciate all of you.
Finally, Mrs. Brenessa David, it was after our conversation that what others had been telling me for years finally sunk in. God used you as affirmation to begin this book. I’ll be forever grateful to you for that and for sharing with me your beautiful daughter Shannon, my good child.
God-ordained relationships are amazing.
When you hide God’s word in your heart, you find yourself being consumed by it. You breathe it, it becomes your oxygen, it changes your heart.

Judith Levy and Barrison Melvin, thank you for being you. I could not have chosen better than you two. I am so grateful that God not only blessed me to have you two as my siblings but also through you brought into my life my babies, Sariah, Justin, Makayla, and Mekhi; my wonderful brother-in-law, Alfred; and my sissy Keya. Only God could put us together and make it work so well. Love you all!
Introduction
I remember at a very early age, probably at six years old, having a consistent dream of being high up in the sky and looking down. There were nights when I saw myself hovering over my bed. In hindsight I believe that this was the beginning of my fascination with what’s beyond the sky. This was the starting point of my search for God.
Years later I had a very vivid dream that some might say was a vision in which I saw the upper portion of a huge figure in the sky, from the shoulders to the waist. In this dream (vision) I identified this figure as God and remembered seeing his right hand reaching into my body and massaging my heart. When he finished, the figure disappeared,
