Sunflower Babies, appear from magical Sunflower seeds that are planted in a magical garden. This magical garden is found in a distant land called Sunflower Valley. Each harvest, the Sunflower Fairy will select special, mystical sunflower seeds to plant in the magical garden for the following spring.

On a beautiful autumn day, when the time is right, the Sunflower Fairy will appear in the magical garden and with a wave of her wand, the Sunflower Babies in the magical garden will come to life. The Sunflower Babies are always very happy and can not wait to discover all the wonders of Sunflower Valley.

The Sunflower Babies were created to help show good values to children of all ages. Connie started with the creation of the Sunflower Babies Rag Dolls and worked her way through the Sunflower Babies chapter book of continuing short stories.

Connie Ostrem is an Ankeny Iowan and a retired grandmother of seven wonderful children. Her hobbies are woodworking, quilting and crafts. Connie’s desire is to be able to create a book that her grandchildren could use and carry through generations. As a mother, she also realizes the importance of good values. When children are taught and practice good values at an early age, it is a good possibility they will carry them through adulthood, which will in return create a continuing cycle of good choices.

Chapter 1

Winter has fallen on Sunflower Valley and a white, heavy snow can be seen for miles. The fields and flowers in Sunflower Valley lay sleeping, waiting for spring time to arrive. The Sunflower Babies were not sleeping, oh no, they were outside having fun in the snow and sliding down the hills of Sunflower Valley. Believe Flower, Concern Flower and Hope Flower were busy making their first snowman of winter.

Wow, said Believe Flower as he wiped his head with his arm. The snow is so heavy. I’m glad we could work together to lift the balls on top of each other.

Yeah, replied Concern Flower. Now we need to finish the snowman, besides, how can he see without eyes?

Silly snowman, said Hope Flower. I have two big, black buttons for your eyes and a red ball that will be just right for your nose.

I know, said Believe Flower. I can get some rocks to make your mouth.
