Walking out of Lidl chatting to my mum, Lynn, then 65, we caught up on each other’s weekend. It was the beginning of 2015 and Mondays were our mum and daughter day – the most special day of the week.
‘Let’s take a trip to IKEA later,’ I said, clutching Mum’s hand.
‘I need to buy a few bits.’
In her other hand, Mum was holding a bunch of beautiful flowers from the shop.
As we passed an elderly lady, Mum stopped.
‘Will you please take these flowers in memory of my mum?’ Mum said to the lady.
‘I can’t buy my mum flowers, so now I need to buy someone else flowers,’ she explained.
