About this ebook
Rachel Paytee
Rachel Paytee was born in the small town of Quitman Georgia. At a very early age she began cooking and quickly developed a love for seeing others take delight in her prepared meals. She soon began having yearly dinner parties for family and friends with as many as seventy guests. But her cooking ventures didn’t stop with just family and friends; she would cook various dishes, cakes and pastries and bring them to work with her so that her coworkers could sample her tasty delights. At the urging of her coworkers she entered a cooking contest which was hosted by Bobby and Jamie Dean from the cooking channel. The response from the audience and other supporters after winning encouraged Rachel to write ‘Cooking from the Heart’. A how to cook book of southern meals made simple. Rachel is a House manager at a homeless shelter of which she hosts yearly dinner banquets to raise monies for the homeless. She currently resides in Valdosta, Georgia.

FORWARD
Cooking From the Heart is a cook book of all those southern favorites that your mom used to make;
but in half the time. At a very early age, I was inspired to cook and was blessed with a mother, grandmother and aunts that knew how to-as southerner’s say-put their foot in it, meaning they were excellent cooks. The down side to all those delicious cakes and roasts that my granny made was that it took her all day long or at least that was what it seemed like to me. Over the years I’ve turned hours of cooking into minutes, the end result is simple ways to make those long awaited, mouth watering dishes quick, easy and perhaps even better.
I got the idea to write Cooking From the Heart when I was encouraged by co-workers to enter a cooking contest that was hosted by the Dean Brothers-you know Paula’s sons-to raise money for a local charity. I won with my mouth watering Amazing Macaroni and Cheese. The over whelming response that
I received from the audience after winning inspired me to write my first cook book and to hold a benefit dinner of my own for the local homeless shelter of which I am an employee.
I’ve also included helpful inexpensive cooking tips that will jazz up any dish. The recipes in Cooking From the Heart are fast, simple but most importantly, delicious. All of the ingredients are easily found at your local grocery store and the cooking instructions are very simple and can be used as a
