Through an informal Facebook survey, we asked readers to tell us about their farmhouse cuisine favourites and, oh boy, did you ever! That was the fun part. Picking just three dishes from all the wonderful suggestions was nearly impossible, and it made us very hungry. From soups and stews to cobblers and cookies, what you told us confirmed what we already knew about farming families: They are a practical and resourceful lot. The recipes that have become beloved classics are products of the seasons, the land and necessity. They are foods that fuel the body, buoy the spirit, and maintain a delicious connection to generations past and to homelands far away. Keto, vegan, gluten-free these are not, but are they ever good!
