    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated first to Jesus Christ the Messiah,

who gave his life and his blood as atonement for our sins.

Secondly, thanks to my beloved daughter, best friend, and in-house editor Linda Parker Moultrie. She is always at my side supporting me in whatever God has called me to do. I love you, Linda.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    —John 3:16

    INTRODUCTION

When God gave me the title Issues for this book, my first thought was, God, could you be a little more specific, please? There are so many issues that women deal with every day that I have no idea where to start.

I found it very difficult to write about hurting women because I once lived a life of pain and suffering. I was broken, had no self-esteem, and everything looked hopeless to me. I had the misconception that my happiness was dependent on other people. Of course, this was a stew brewed by Satan and not fit for anyone to consume; but consume it I did, and it nearly destroyed me. Out of my ordeals, I attached myself to Christ. He healed me and set me free through his Word.

I began preparing for this book by putting out a questionnaire for women to identify the things in their life that robbed them of their joy, peace, and happiness. Boy, did I get answers.

From this research, I discovered that all women are having difficulties in some areas of their life.

Professionals, housewives, widows, Christians, non-Christians, married, single, divorced, indigent, the educationally challenged, women in the ministry (pastors, evangelists, conference speakers, etc.), past and present drug addicts, and prostitutes—all face challenges that, at times, seem insurmountable. I have found that women who are young single parents and women who live a high-profile life in which everything must look perfect are particularly vulnerable to satanic attacks. The former because they lack moral support to teach them a better way and the latter because they are under so much pressure to present an I’ve got it all together mask to the world. In each case, these women usually have very low self-esteem because they feel that they have disappointed people and do not measure up. Then Satan comes to kill your joy, to deceive and to destroy your faith! Experience has taught me that our first line of defense and support must be Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The Word of God is our weapon.

We must establish intimacy with Jesus Christ and get to know him through his Word and through prayer. He will then fix the brokenness in our soul and give us a new heart of hope. He will deliver us and set us free. My prayer is that, as Christians, we will be better wives, mothers, sisters, children, and friends to every soul that touches our life.

This is the message that I want to convey in this book. There is hope for a better life today.

Jesus has already saved us. The pain, suffering, agony, and hopelessness, which many women experience, can be history if we are prepared to make right choices now! This book is my first step in establishing an outreach ministry for women.

As you get to know Jesus Christ, and as you work your way through this book, these are a few words that you will become very familiar with:

    focus[1]—A point of concentration.

faith[2]—Belief and trust in and loyalty to God, without question.

persevere[3]—To persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counter influences, opposition, or discouragement.

dedication[4]—An act or rite of dedicating to a divine being or to a sacred use.

stewardship[5]—Utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of his creation.

sanctification[6]—The generic meaning of sanctification is the state of proper functioning.

justification[7]—Is a divine act whereby an infinitely Holy God judicially declares a believing sinner to be righteous and acceptable before him because Christ has borne the sinner’s sin on the cross and has become to us righteousness. Justification springs from the fountain of God’s grace.

salvation[8]—In biblical solutions, salvation describes the full range of divine activity in physical and spiritual deliverance—both past, present, and future.

holiness[9]—In the highest sense belongs to God, and to Christians consecrated to God’s service, and in so far as they are conformed in all things to the will of God. Personal holiness is a work of gradual development. It is carried on under many hindrances, hence the frequent admonitions to watchfulness, prayer, and perseverance.

sin[10]—Actions by which humans rebel against God, miss his purpose for their life, and surrender to the power of evil rather than to God.

accountability[11]—The biblical principle that man is answerable to his Maker for his thoughts, words, and deeds.

redemption—Deliverance by payment of a price. Salvation from sin, death, and the wrath of God by Christ’s sacrifice. The New
