Break Free, Exceed Boundaries - Roxann N. Whittingham
Advance praise for Break Free, Exceed Boundaries
"Break Free, Exceed Boundaries compels us to think about the things that keep us from living the full life that God desires for us. Roxann Whittingham has interwoven stories from her own life with those of women from the Bible and underpinned everything with strong support from the scriptures. All of us can learn from the author’s wisdom and experience."

Dedication
God has been faithful to me over the years, and in every season of my life. He continues to bestow love towards me I do not deserve, and for this reason I must dedicate this book to him. His love continues to inspire me, and with the help of his blessed Holy Spirit I was able to compile this book.
I would also like to dedicate this book to my mother Doreen and my dad Clinton, who have been my motivation in life. They have instilled good values in me and are always my greatest fans. They always believed in me and my abilities, even when I didn’t realize them myself. God bless you, Mom and Dad.
I also recognize my sons, Akeem and Joshua, who are the reason I persevere amidst the trials of this life. I love you more than you know. And to my sister Keisha and brother Rushine for their prayers and support. I appreciate them.

Acknowledgements
I would firstly like to thank God for inspiring me and guiding me in writing about the many issues presented in this book. I thank him for the boldness of the Holy Spirit in addressing those topics I would otherwise have been timid to write about. He has constantly reminded me that if you intend for God to use you radically, you have to set your face like a flint and speak.
I would also like to thank Minister Gale Stephnie Johnson for encouraging me in this process. Many thanks also to Reverend Michael Hamilton, a fellow author and dear friend and brother to my uncle Walter. It was due to a challenge he gave me to start writing that I realized I had the potential to be successful in this area.
Special thanks to Judi Vandeurzen and Alison Bailey, who assisted me with initial editing work. To my dear friend Christine Eisses for all her encouragement and support. Your kind gestures are immensely appreciated.
Thanks to all my pastors and the brothers and sisters in Christ, especially sister Claire Witter, who have touched my life and inspired me one way or the other. Thank you for welcoming me into the family of God and for believing in me and the gifting with which the Lord has blessed me.
Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way, small or great. You have helped to make a difference. I give God all the glory for this gift he has freely given me.
Introduction
You may have looked at the title of this book and thought to yourself, I’ve heard it all before. However, the fact remains that only Christ can make us truly free. We have also been endowed with the ability to tap into our inner minds and manifest the power to attain this worthy ideal. It is therefore the duty of the free to spread the good news.
Once you are a born again Christian, walking in full fellowship with Christ, the Holy Spirit will equip you to share with others the love of God, as you experience it. Our mess can become a powerful message to others, but we have to yield ourselves to be used by God.
I have written this book as a result of what I believe is a burden placed on my heart to see people liberated to serve God. The enemy has a way of keeping our minds enslaved after God has set us free. His desire is to see us under constant bondage in whatever ways we will allow him. He will use any channel left unattended in our lives, and consequently we should be aware of his devices.
I have tried to include something for everyone, from the saved to the unsaved, the young as well as the mature adults. I have written this book to shed some light on some of the issues that affect us as Christians, as well as our non-Christian friends. I do not claim to know it all, and this is why I took the time to conduct some formal and informal research. I gained insights through this research and my daily interaction with people from all walks of life. As I opened myself and shared freely with others, they were more than willing to do the same with me.
I have also made mention of some of my personal experiences and present relevant and practical examples. I have used experiences garnered at college from the conversations I had with non-Christians and Christians alike. I try to make every encounters one of learning and enlightenment.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to a few countries, and on every occasion I have tried to locate the nearest church which sincerely calls on the name of the living God. Now that I reside in one of the most multicultural countries in the world, Canada, I have gained an even broader insight. Consequently, I have gained a wealth of knowledge of a variety of cultures. This means that the situations outlined in this book don’t target any specific church or place of worship. Instead they embody a wide school of thought.
These writings don’t seek to undermine anyone or cause any ill feelings to my brothers and sisters in Christ. In fact, the book seeks to be of help in identifying and conquering the works of the enemy, to eradicate his lies from the lives of God’s people.
I recognize and acknowledge the authority of the ministers under whose leadership the Lord has placed me. Therefore, I give honour to them and know that I am supported in expressing my personal views. It is the desire of my heart that this book will help our ministers be even better shepherds. I also hope this same sentiment will be extended to laypeople so that we may arise and help the hard-working men of God carry out the Great Commission—to seek those who are lost.
I recall the advice of a former lecturer in the area of job-seeking, who told me that if you want to gain insight and learn the intimate details about a company you’re interested in working for, it’s important to speak to the gardener, even the office cleaners. They can tell you what time the boss arrives for work, what his different moods are like, who likes to gossip, and who you should watch out for on the job. Although some of us may consider such people’s positions to be of little estate, we need the knowledge they have to make it
