About this ebook

This book is entitled Women Struggling in a Mans World. In the beginning, when God created the heavens and earth, man was created first. Then he made woman for man. God gave man authority over all things. Woman was made from the rib of man to work by his side as a helpmate. Woman, all over the world has been, and is yet struggling to achieve in this world. A large percent of children is raised by a single parent, with no child support, absence of a father, no high school diploma, and receiving government help. This book is about how I struggled raising my children, working four jobs, receiving no child support. There was a time when I worked at a rehab center as a lab technician. Early in the morning, I carried blood to VA hospital and worked there for eight hours, left there to cook for a woman shelter; and on weekendsfrom 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.I worked at Presbyterian Hospital. On Sunday morning, I and my children were at Sunday school. I want to let women know that they can make it. The key is that you must put all of your trust in God because he will supply all your needs. This world was made by God. Women, you dont have to stoop to low level to get food on the table, gas in your car, or clothes for your children or even be promoted to another job. Be a woman of strength, having morals, values with dignity, and virtue. I want to encourage women to have some standards for themselves. If you dont stand for something, you will fall for anything.

    From Boys to Men

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    —Ephesians 6:12

    Preface

From the beginning, we struggle with good and bad, right and wrong, and making the right choices. Many times, we fail to realize that behind every choice we make, there are consequences.

I learned at an early age by observing choices that others made brings truth to the fact that we reap what we sow. At the age of seven, I chose to live for God. With many struggles in my life, I remained faithful to God. My school days challenged me the most. It took much prayer, fasting, and determination to hold fast to the faith.

What is your greatest challenge in this spiritual walk with God? Is it your job, your family, your peers, or is it yourself?

    Chapter 1

    My Troubles Begins

I was born to Samuel and Marguritte Lyons in Dallas, Texas, 1957 at Parkland Hospital. My mother told me that death walked in the delivery room while she was trying to birth me into the world. When the doctors discovered that I was breech, and pushing upward instead of coming down the birth canal, they immediately rushed my mother to surgery and did a C-section.

When I was born, my parents named me Aaron—which means uncertain. When people read or hear my name, they immediately think that I was a boy or a male. Even when I grew up, I received mail saying, Mr. Aaron. One day, after having so much trouble with my name, I went to my mother and asked her why did she name me Aaron, and she said that she knew I was chosen by God from birth.

I gave my heart to God at the age of seven and was filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. From that day, I started witnessing in school to my classmates; and during recess, we would have prayer service. A couple of my classmates received Christ as their Lord and Savior; I doubt if they realized what was happening to them, but they observed my life; and to many, I became a role model of righteousness. I struggled with being picked on, talked about, lied on, but respected. God always fought my battles. I remember one Wednesday, a classmate came to me and told me to
