You are always so quiet
And never say no more
Than four words, Hi, Hello,
Bye and come on
I could never understand
The change in personality
I had to wise up and
Take a drink
When I realize this was
Something you liked
I just said the last one
Is on me
Never, knew two would be
Your limit, what a sudden
Change I could see it in you
You were loud and irrational
I’ll never be the same
Did not know you had a habit
As serious as this: you are my friend
And help is on the way.
Admit, accept and reach out for help
94209-DUHA-layout-low.pdfYou Held My Hand
It is a first time for everything
Never experience pain before
I was a man standing tall
What could be wrong with me.
My body was calling to be seen
Who needs the doctor what
Will they say preparing myself
For the worst.
Could not wait to call you
To give you the news
Front and center there
You stood.
How could I be so bull-headed
Risking my health you consoled
Me when my spirits were low
You covered me when I fell to sleep
You read stories to me about
Protection and planning our
Friendship has been solid as a rock
When I needed you most you were
Like a shield
94209-DUHA-layout-low.pdfWill You Still Love Me
When my hair parts from my
Roots will you still love me
When my eyes require glasses
Will you still reach for me
When I fall to sleep before
You will you tuck me in
Will we still kick it like we
Use too you and I would go
For rounds
Now, we just hold hands
And talk about the (yesterday)
It was yes
everyday
My steps are getting smaller
And the smallest things
Complete me
I am glad to have you in
My life
You still
make me laugh
And I love the way
You chase me around the room.
You will always be sexy to me.
