About this ebook

Three bullets, a Dishonor, a Revival demonstrates the power of God to work in adversity. It is the experience of one pastor that always told God that he wanted to do his will. The Lord asked him to convoke the pastors and churches in his neighborhood for a unity service. Fulfilling the order of the Lord, he saw few attend the convocation but never stopped believing God, persevering in the work to which he had been commended.
Something unexpected occurred on a Sunday morning service, when a gunman started to shoot directly at the pastor, injuring him and a leader of the church-news that was reported nationally and beyond. The Lord used this event to fulfill his purpose of convoking the churches, not only on a local level, but also in all of Puerto Rico. The Lord glorified himself in the unity of the people exalting the name of Christ. The book encourages knowing how to wait in the silence of God since he always reveals his plan and opens doors wide. We are warned that when a blessing arrives, we are not to neglect our relationship with God, since from this moment the blessings will be multiplied, but most importantly, we will see a revival erupt.

    RECOGNITIONS

T his is a very special moment in my life because I can pause and thank God for how good He has always been to me. I constantly see His marvelous grace and great mercy. The Lord of the harvest receives all of my praise for having chosen and called me to serve in His holy ministry.

It has not been easy to publish this book. I have long prayed for God to prepare the way for a work of excellence, such as the one that you, beloved brother, sister and friend, now hold in your hands.

I thank God for giving me a beautiful and cherished family, for my wife and children, whom I love immensely. Thank you for always supporting me unconditionally. I love you very much.

I also thank the precious congregation of Habakkuk 3:17 Church, that by the grace of God, my wife and I were privileged to pastor. To every one of the members I extend my sincere gratitude for your prayers and support.

I thank Dr. George Wood, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in the United States, for his prayers and because his call was of great encouragement in the midst of a difficult trial.

A special thanks for Rev. Juan H. Suárez, Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Puerto Rico, and for his beloved wife, sister Magda. Something that I will never forget about Rev. Suárez is that he personally decided to take charge of the church during my time of poor health as a result of the bullet I received in the sanctuary.

I appreciate Rev. Nino González, Pastor of Calvary Church in Orlando, Florida for his great ministerial support and for his commendable prologue for this book.

I extend my appreciation to Rev. Manuel Alvarez, former Pastor of the First Spanish Assembly of God in Lancaster, PA, who is currently Superintendent of the Spanish Eastern District of the Assemblies of God. Brother Manny, who was my pastor while I prepared for the ministry, was of great blessing to my family and particularly to this servant.

A special thank you to Rev. William Hernández, former President of the Pentecostal Church of God, IM, Puerto Rico Region and also former President of the Pentecostal Fraternity of Puerto Rico (FRAPE) for his ample support in promoting the Great Day of Revival and this servant’s other projects.

I must also mention my gratitude for brother William Biggio. Thank you Willie because you were the contact that God used for me to meet the editor of this book.

Thank you to all the pastors and brethren that keep us in their prayers, and for the support they give us, in the project THE GREAT DAY OF REVIVAL, that takes place every year in Puerto Rico, in the United States and, very soon, across the ocean.

Last in order but not in importance, I want to give my sincere appreciation to Dr. Samuel Díaz, President and Editor of Excellence Publications, for his magnificent work in transforming my handwritten notes to what is now this book. In its pages are evidenced the anointed and masterly touch of this servant of God, who spared neither time nor resources to support me generously to this noble end.

To all, may God richly bless you!

    Rev. Pedro Negrón

    PROLOGUE

W e live in extraordinarily critical times. Like never before, society is adopting its own law, a new cannon, and a modern manual of relationships between the inhabitants of the planet. In all places one notes the overwhelming advancement of science and technology that, truth be told, in many respects brings unimaginable things that the generation of the seventies never even dreamed.

Globalization and the economic system of free trade have united to make the inhabitants of the earth be like residents of a small village where everyone knows the other, can use each other’s products, and know what is happening in the entire village.

Things are no longer as before. Society is living with evil, accepting it, and saying that each individual, beyond his or her peculiarities and style of life, is welcome in this morality of tolerance. Today more than ever we can see through a digital photograph, in full color, and high resolution, what Psalm 7:14 says: He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment.

Within this meager scene the hosts of evil are attacking the Church of Christ externally and liberal followers of other gospels are undermining the foundations of our faith from the inside.

THREE BULLETS, A DISHONOR, A REVIVAL, a title that includes what this book tells us about the power, faithfulness and purpose of God for our lives. It is great to see how the Lord permits even adverse and tragic things to become blessings in the pinnacle of our practical faith, as the apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good, for those that love Him, for those who are called according to His purpose.

Pastors, as agents of heaven, are charged with watching the flock of the Lord. We are called to confront the challenges of the new social order, and at the same time, work out the tendencies to change the gospel. Sadly, many pastors and congregations are lining up with the liberal and, so called, progressive spirit within the Church. In spite of this, there is a remnant of pastors, ministers and brethren, that continue faithful to God and his Word, believing that the promises of the Lord continue being current and are being fulfilled even in these times of marked apostasy.

It is in this context of our world and the Church that this marvelous and dramatic story unfolds, with a happy ending, of a pastor that in an hour of great trial came out refined as gold. Not only this, but also that God used an act of violence that made national news, perpetrated in the sanctuary and at the altar, to bring a deeply rooted revival in the Church in Puerto Rico.

I know Rev. Pedro Negrón, former Pastor of the Habakkuk 3:17 Church in Arecibo PR and I know the way the Lord worked in his life, as in his family and ministry. Brother Negron has been called to serve God
