Chapter 1: What Is Heart Attack Or Myocardial Infarction
A Heart attack occurs when a segment of the heart muscle dies or necrosis occurs as a result of a loss of blood supply. The blood supply is usually cut off due to a clogged coronary artery, which supplies blood to the heart muscle via blood clots. This is also referred to as coronary thrombosis.
