This book is dedicated to all you busy business professionals out there who need to take a step back and engage in some self-care. You work day in and day out, often leaving very little time for you. You know who you are!
You can’t remember the last time you did something just for yourself. You have hobbies and interests you used to love that you vow to pick back up when you have the time. You have hobbies you would like to take up but are still waiting on. So, do you know when that will be? Never! Why? Because you can’t sit still. You don’t feel comfortable unless you are busy and active and involved in something. You may not even be able to separate your identity from your career anymore. Yes, you are a doctor, lawyer, or C-Suite executive, but there is also a person in there, beyond the title. A person who needs just as much attention as your family or career does.
Let’s face it: your careers are demanding and, if you have a family on top, things can feel downright overwhelming. Sometimes you feel like you can’t have one more thing put on your plate or you might snap, so you put yourself on the back burner. Maybe you have an untreated mental health disorder. Maybe you are just in a funk and need to take some time to evaluate your mental health and make minor changes.
Whatever the case, this book is for you! I pray that its chapters give you the opportunity to take some time out for you.
