About this ebook

Kevin's life was fairly standard and hectic. The fifth out of nine children there was never a shortage of excitement in the house. But his real joy came in building things. If he could describe heaven, it would be a place with unlimited access to power tools filled with the smell of sawdust and metal. Confident in his sexuality and sometimes a bit aggressive his journey into adulthood was running as smoothly as it could. That is until highschool.

His first day of school Kevin witnesses an incident with another student. Something seems off about the altercation but no one else notices. Still, Kevin can't get this scene nor the student out of his mind. He's convinced he's right regardless if no one else believes it. Then one day he gets the opportunity to test his theory and the situation he finds himself in is something that even he did not expect.

This series should be read in order due to different vantage points over the same timelines.

Kevin was sitting on the living room floor with his twin but not really twin. His dad had an affair with someone who went to extreme yet secret measures to get pregnant by him. He had money, and she was hoping to break up the marriage. Her brain somehow didn’t register when he said he and his wife were in a very committed open relationship. Her attempts to steal him and have him for herself failed, so she left her son in the hospital, and never spoke to him again. He was born a few minutes before Kevin.

Today, Kevin and his half-brother were watching a comedy sitcom about a blended family. It was called, rather unimaginatively, The Family. The guy who played Juno was Kevin's favourite character. Thirteen, Asian, and all sorts of amazing, Kevin thought. His brother Jacob, who was also named Kevin, but no one used his first name, found this highly amusing. Their parents did nothing to discourage it. If he thought Juno was interesting, then Juno was interesting.

    He's too old for you.

By only six years, Kevin said in protest to his brother.

Jacob laughed. He's a teen. You're only in first grade.

    It's still just six years.

"Yeah, but when you're his age he'll be nineteen going twenty.
