    A good day

    It took me a while

To open my eyes and see,

    A good day depends less

on the world and more on me.

If I let the world drag

    my mood into the ground,

    forgetting the possibility

then no day can be good,

    because everything will go wrong.

    Instead I really need to

see the world as my own,

    ignoring the darkness

    that surrounds,

So that my day is affected

    by the good only

as it should be all along.

    I remember walking

    and wishing to hold

    a recorder in my hands,

    to keep my thoughts,

    to keep my poetry.

    My steps inspired,

    and nothing to do,

    my dreams on fire,

    how quickly the words flew.

    Solitude and nature

    wrapped around me
