    Introduction

    An elderly employee retired from his service and deposited his hard earned provident fund amount and personal salary savings in a bank as fixed deposit.

    He was receiving Rs.46000 or so every month as interest for 5 years.

    Suddenly the interest rates for F.Ds fell down sharply and he lost Rs.14000/- per month and received a meager amount of Rs.32000 or so only.
