A Pocket Book of Confidence - Teresa Bulford-Cooper

    1. What Are You

    Telling Yourself?

The first, and most important, thing to do is check in on your self-talk and listen to what it’s saying. Is it telling you positive things about yourself, or is it negative jibber-jabber? If it’s the negative voice, you need to dispel those thoughts and turn them into positive affirmations.

E.g. I can’t do it into I can do it.

The more you tell yourself you can do something, the more it will condition your mind to believe it – think it, and you can be it.

If you are like some ladies who can’t seem to switch it off, try reasoning with yourself. Ask yourself why you are thinking these negative thoughts; question them.

If you are continuously putting yourself down or making jokes about the way you look; you need to stop it and start talking about yourself nicely – you wouldn’t say it to your best friend so why say it to
