The Ultimate Reference Guide to SNES Fighting Games - BlackNES Guy
Introduction
Hello there, fellow gamer, Congratulations on purchasing The Ultimate Guide to the Super Nintendo Classic Edition!
I love retro classic games and grew up with treasured instruction booklets that told me so much about the stories of the worlds that we played in. I think it really adds a lot to the experience when you’re able to pick up a book and find out more about a game before you start playing it. It makes you feel more immersed and in control, which makes it much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition doesn’t ship with all those lovely manuals. That’s why I made this book for you!
How to use this book
This book is meant to introduce you to the games that come loaded on the SNES Classic Edition. You’ll learn about the stories behind the game, about the genre of the games, when it was released, and the different modes that you can play the game in. You’ll also learn about the way the games work—how you can get extra lives, how many points you need to get them, and other information that you might not know just by picking up the controller and playing in the first few minutes. It’s the perfect companion to help you get started with enjoying your Super Nintendo Classic Edition.
You know, I remember what it was like to get really stuck on a level back when I first started playing the Super Nintendo. That’s why I’ve included a few tips and tricks in this book to help you get started.
If you’re looking for even more secrets, tips, and tricks though, keep an eye out for my other books! Many games have their own guidebooks, filled to the brim with details about exactly where you can find the secrets, the special moves, the expert strategies, and everything else you’ll need in order to beat the game with the highest score possible! Contra III: The Alien Wars
Overview
In Contra III: The Alien Wars, you and a friend play as an elite Special Forces soldier and your goal is to break through the enemy lines and get into the Alien Main Base. This is an Arcade Run and Gun game by Konami and it’s lots of fun and notoriously tough to beat. Be prepared for dying over and over again! There are 6 stages, which take about 2 hours to beat (more if you die a lot). You can play with a friend or by yourself.
Summary
You’re in Neo City. The year is 2636. You’re the descendent of Jimbo and Sully, two Special Forces comrades with advanced weaponry. Your mission is to defeat the aliens that invaded Earth and waged war against mankind. Do whatever it takes to get into the Alien Main Base: you’ll be running and blasting enemies left and right, above and below. There are 6 missions to play through: The Streets of Neo City, Maria Calderon Highway, Old Cyber Steel Mill, The Battle of the Blazing Sky, The Mucho Grande Badlands, and Red Falcon’s Main Base.
Instructions
2 Player Mode. There are two types, A and B. Mode A means that during top-view stages, you and your battle buddy will be fighting on different screens. In Mode B, you fight on the same screen. If you find out that you don’t like the mode you chose, you can choose the other one on the CONTINUE screen.
Difficulty Levels. In easy mode, you get three chances to continue after dying. In normal and hard mode, you get five chances. There are also unique endings for all three difficulty levels, so make sure to try them all!
Tip & Tricks
Upgrade your weapons. Shoot down Weapon Wings and grab the Power Up that drops. You’ll get a more powerful
