From the date SONGS FROM MY SOUL is available for purchase I will donate 100% of all profits/royalties for the first year of my revised book. Charities chosen will be for all children in need, sexually abused and physically abused children. And then for perpetuity I will continue to donate no less that 50 percent of all profits/royalties to these causes. It is my firm prayer that no child should suffer, but if they do we need to be there to for them in whatever way we can to support them in the healing.

I have personally known 5 people who have been the victims of childhood sexual abuse. I can honestly say I could almost see and feel the emotional wounds they suffered. For many, if not all, their scars remain in their lives today. The writing of my first book, SONGS FROM MY SOUL has been a gift from God as my soul began speaking to me the 1970s’. My hope and dream is that the proceeds from this book will in some way help to bring some healing to all children who have experienced any horrific abuse.

From 1969 through 1979 I was an elementary school teacher. In 2016 I reconnected with one of my former students via Facebook. She would now be in her forties. After exchanging a few private messages she texted me the following message:

Mr.Smallie I know you could have not known that when I was in your fourth grade class I was sexually abused by my stepfather almost every day. Your class was the only safe place I had every week where you made learning fun. I will forever be grateful for that.
