    Chapter 1

People have spent billions of dollars on diet books, diet pills, and quick-fix diet fads, which all have been, for the most part, temporary or have just outright failed. Here is my story, and you will see I have come from the place most of you are in. I am not a doctor, nor was I one of those perfect women who are a size 2 and have been their whole lives. These people write diet and exercise books or videos, This is how I do it. Well, consider the fact that for most of these people, for example, there are actresses and actors who have diet and exercise books out, but I don’t ever recall seeing these people overweight or even a little heavy. They have been mostly thin all their lives, then they publish or put out these books and/or videos showing how to lose weight, and they for the most part have never had to lose weight! Yes, they probably exercise and diet because they have to keep being fit, but I am sure most have never had to deal with the issues that millions of overweight women and men including myself have! Yet these people who make these books and videos never had weight issues, even doctors!

When I see these advertisements, I want to just call and say, Have you ever had to lose weight? Do you know what and how difficult it really is? All of your guarantees that it works when you yourself have never had to actually do it! It drives me crazy! Now I am a real person with real lifelong battles with my weight and finally have created something that works.

I used to think it was my fault entirely, I was weak and needed more self-control, but as I look back, I know some of it has to do with genetics, starting out anyway, playing a role in it, but we all know that. In my family and probably most back then, you were always told to finish everything on your plate before you can leave the table. This prompted a very bad habit. It wasn’t our parents’ fault though; they were doing what their parents did to them.

Now when you are in a hurry to go play or whatnot, you just shovel the food in to get it finished. Most of us grew up this way, eating so fast not knowing when you were actually full—well, before it was too late anyway! All of a sudden, it kicks in, and you are stuffed! You didn’t need to eat the rest of that food, but that was the rule! Our parents obviously were not trying to harm us, but in the end, I think that is where some of my bad habits started or just got worse! My tool shows you to relax, eat slow, to enjoy the food you’re eating. You become more satisfied sooner and, most important, more aware of your body signals. You need to keep in mind it takes about twenty minutes for your stomach to send that full signal to the brain.

I have struggled with being overweight all my life. Being picked on most of my childhood for being so big, I was pretty much the biggest in my class. You can’t imagine how cruel kids can be, or maybe you can. My nickname was Boom-Boom among others. This triggered something in me long ago, and I was always self-conscious of my weight, which developed into a very low self-esteem. This is how I wound up at a very young age going from one diet to the next with almost no results. Oh yes, one or two times I had succeeded, only to gain the weight back almost immediately with additional weight. I tried diet pills, diet drinks, no carbohydrates at all, high protein,
