Introduction
It isn’t every day that we recognize the beauty in different seasons of our lives. As people, born into sin, it is a natural compulsion of ours to see the negative impact a situation can have in the natural fluctuation of our daily lives, rather than recognizing the positive. We tend to focus on what we will lose through the changes, rather than what we can gain. When we go through storms, tests, or trials, we tend to miss God because all we can seem to focus on is just how unpleasant things seem to be going. Well, all of that is about to shift. This book has been placed on my heart to let you in on a little secret: There is a harvest for every season.
A few months ago, I was sitting on the couch in my living room binge watching sermons from a few of my favorite pastors. There was one message that every pastor seemed to push. In due season, you will reap a harvest.
Now, there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with that teaching. In fact, we have a scripture reference to that in Galatians 6:9, Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
However, it was in that moment on that couch when the Holy Spirit said to me, Every season has a harvest.
My perspective on life and circumstances has forever been changed.
If we are not careful, we can push that scripture to imply that there are only certain seasons that produce a harvest, and that we must wait for those seasons in order to reap. The message should really be understood as each season has a harvest, and with each season you have been given the opportunity to reap, but the prerequisite is to faint not. Due season
simply means at the appropriate time.
It is by conquering the rough weather of the season, that we will reach the appointed time to reap the harvest that each season has brought us.
I do not profess to be an expert, but I have gone through experiences that are meant to be shared. This book has been written from the perspective of my own experiences to highlight the many seasons that I believe people may face, and the harvest that awaits them in those seasons. Every season has a harvest, but it is only with our hearts focused on God, that we will be able to know what and when to reap.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
It is with gladness in my heart that I write these words before you, that these your people will be blessed from the word that you gave me, that every season has a harvest, Lord. I pray that you open their hearts and their minds to receive from you, God, as you use me to express your thoughts and ideas on the pages of this book. I pray that you silence the naysayers—that those who have spoken against your people will have front row seats to the glory that you will get through their lives and through their obedience. God, I pray that any hindering or distracting spirit be silenced now in the name of Jesus, so that the reader can fully receive from you, Lord. Let your will be done in each and every one of their lives, in Jesus name. Father I thank you, I bless you, I give you all the glory. In Jesus’ name I pray and give thanks. Amen.
The Seed and the Harvest
What are you believing in God for right now? A house? A new car? A marriage? Are the things you want to attain in life built from selfish desire, or from God’s will? I ask these questions to make one thing clear: A life that serves self is not a life that serves God. Yes, God is good. Yes, God loves you. But, no. This walk with Him isn’t about getting blessings. If you only desire to harvest that which benefits your flesh, you will never reap the fullness and abundance of all that God called you to have and be. Reaping, gathering, taking, receiving in return, recompense, harvesting, or whatever name you put to it, is done spiritually first, then reflected in the natural. Why? Because God cares about our eternal life. The carnal benefit is only temporary.
Everything we see, from the leaves on the trees, or the freckles on a friend’s face, are all symptoms and reflections of what was first birthed spiritually (Spoken and approved by God). Nothing can manifest in the natural that has not had a spiritual birth first. We see evidence for this from Genesis to Revelation. God said Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit of its kind…
(Genesis 1:11 AMP). Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved you…]
(Jeremiah 1:5 AMP). Something took place in both instances before coming into being: God spoke, consecrated, and approved. Nothing that we see is here by happenstance, everything is by design, God’s design. Even the hair on our heads is numbered! (Luke 12:7 KJV). How much more do you think that applies to the harvests that you seek? Shouldn’t there be a spiritual harvest before we see it in the natural? When we pray Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven,
this is what we are asking for—a natural reflection of what already exists spiritually. Once we have harvested that seed spiritually, we then have the power to make it manifest in the natural over and over. He does it this way so that we may be a blessing to others. He fills us up in the Spirit, so that we can pour out from the Spirit into the natural, then we seek Him to fill us again. The seed and the harvest are more than just the idea of God blessing you. It’s about giving you what you need so that His glory can be sown and harvested in your life and throughout the Earth.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
(Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)
Take note of the scripture above. All the gathering/reaping of that fruit are spiritual— these actions are birthed in our spirits before they are manifested in our flesh. None of those things are tangible; you can’t hold it in your hands. But you can harvest them in your spirit. I wonder, have you considered that the harvest God intended you to reap was to the benefit of your spiritual growth? Again, everything that we see is a symptom of what was first birthed in the spirit realm. Once it has been released, we can make it manifest in the natural. Let me give you an example. Let’s look at the story of creation.
When God began to create the heavens and the earth the earth was without shape or form, it was dark over the deep sea, and God’s wind swept over the waters God said, Let there be light.
And so light appeared…God said, "Let there be a dome in the middle of the waters to separate the waters from
