Life Inside the Holy Ghost - Fred L. Wiggins
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Y OU SEE, MY two sisters, Ann, Gladys and myself, were brought up in the church. My mother, Deloris, brought us to church every Sunday morning. Although my cousins and I enjoyed going to church, we would oftentimes sneak down to the corner store and buy candy and gum for ourselves. We would be chewing in the church service until one of the church mothers would say, Spit that gum out! We don’t eat or chew while inside of the church.
We would sit there, watching my grandmother and the other Saints get happy and shout Sunday after Sunday. Nevertheless, all my life I had never experienced, not even a glimpse, of God’s movement in my life. For thirty-five years and I had never heard from God, I was living life outside of the Holy Ghost with no real experience of inner change.
At the age of twenty-nine, I surrendered fully to God. However many distractions came my way: attending colleges and schools of my choice, such as Youngstown State University, New Castle School of trade and the American Baptist College of Theology. Nevertheless He kept me in one peace through it all. As my Christian walk with God continued, He began to cultivate my Christian experiences by growing me in His Grace. It was then my true experience of surrendering to God began.
As time went on, I started spending a great deal of time in ministering to inmates in correctional institutions. Ohio State Penitentiary in Coitsville is where I first began my prison missions. I went on to minister to prisons such as Elkton Federal Correctional and Trumbull Correctional which are all found in the greater Youngstown-Warren area. While my main goal is to teach and equip men with the necessary steps to Salvation and Living life by purpose, I never ceased to teach Destiny. Our minds must be made up to live inside the Holy Ghost. You can experience truth, excitement, peace, a sensitive heart, a new mind, spiritual growth and the list goes on and on but you must let go and let God.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH IS LIKE TREES GROWING IN THE FOREST
M ARK 8:24 AND he looked up and said, I see men as trees, walking.
Just like a tree in the forest, they start their growth from a seed planted in the ground and are dependent on the soil it’s planted in. It must have plenty of water for its growth. In general it needs favorable temperature. Nutrients are very important. Our spiritual growth is dependent on the seed (Word of God) that’s being planted in us. The King James Bible, which is the adulterated word of God, is a good place to plant your Garden (Spiritual life) through. First, you need someone to plant the seed, Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
Second, you must be planted on good soil (Pasture that believes in the Holy Ghost and that there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved). Thirdly, you must continue being watered by the Word of God. Springs are continual flows of water. John 4:14 the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
In the storms (trouble) of life you should be optimistic about your spiritual growth in life because where triumph and tragedy is present it is there where sprouting takes place. Every so often in various seasons
