    FOREWORD

I recommend The Anointing to anyone who wants to further his/her knowledge of God’s divine anointing. The ideas contained in this book are complex, yet simple in their explanation. This book should be more than just simply read; it should be used as an in depth study guide as it is full of inspired insights and explanations of complicated concepts, and those who do study it will grow in their understanding of God’s word and His purpose for them.

I hope this book blesses you as much as it has blessed me. I learned much from it, and I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to work on this book as I know it will further the building of God’s kingdom.

    In Him,

    THE PREFACE

To all of the people who take the time to read this book, I want to thank you personally from the bottom of my heart. It is not an original topic, but then again biblically speaking, nothing is. I have always been a firm believer in the fact that there is no new revelation in the Bible. All the revelation has already been placed in it. It is the fact that the revelation that is there, is slowly being revealed to those saints who will hunger and search for righteousness and wisdom. To those select few, there is not only revelation, but deliverance. There is healing from sickness and disease, deliverance from demonic oppression, prosperity in all senses of the word, and resurrection from death to eternal life.

The Anointing is a unique application of the divine power of God that is manifested through the saints in a variety of applications. Nevertheless, it is still as prevalent today, as it was in the days of the Old Testament Prophets. I encourage each and every one of you to dig through this work, analyze it, argue with it, if need be, but most important of all, receive it in your spirit. It is there that it will provide the most benefits for you.

God bless you and prosper you with abundant life, for the seeds you have sewn in the ministry with the purchase of this book. May you reap a 100 fold return on your investment in time, money, and spiritual development.

    Sincerely

    Pastor Karl D. Pabst Sr.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I would like to thank LuAnne Golden for her tireless efforts in editing this book. She has been an invaluable asset to the completion of this work.

I also would like to thank my best friend, companion, and Proverbs 31 wife, Debra Ann Pabst. There is nothing that could happen successfully without her attention to detail, dedication, and her sense of urgency. She is the cog that keeps me moving and functioning with the efficiency that God wants me to move in. Without her there would have been nothing but blank pages in my life.

Finally, I would like to thank God, for the motivation, inspiration, revelation, and wisdom to produce this work. Everything I am and hope to become is in Him. May God bless you richly as you read this book.

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Definition of Anointing

In order to understand the anointing it is absolutely imperative that one understand just what the anointing is, how it operates, and moreover, how it is applied within your life. One must have a clear and concise view on the methodology of God. To know that methodology is to know God Himself.

God works in the concept of complex simplicity. To the outside observer it is this mysterious process that is cloaked in secrecy and divine manifestation. To the born-again believer it is simply, a word spoken, faith implemented, and Holy Ghost activated movement of the provisions of God’s written word. It is not something that requires some flamboyant prayer ritual or long repetitious oration. It is simply; knowing what promise from the word of God applies to your situation, using it in faithful prayer, and the name of Jesus.

When God created the earth, and everything in it, He did not go into any arduous religious ritual. No, He simply spoke the words and it happened. Genesis 1:1-3, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (2) And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (3) And God said: let there be light; and there was light." God did not use repetitive language, He did not use flamboyant language, and He did not take five minutes to listen to Himself talk. So why do believers deceive themselves into doing it?

God created the earth and everything in it by using His anointing. The anointing is defined as: the presence, power and peace of God manifested through the Holy Spirit, to accomplish the will of God on the earth. It can only be manifested through faith, holiness, and the will of God.

The same anointing used by God, is transferred to His believers through salvation, and acceptance of the Holy Spirit. The amount of anointing one receives is dependent upon several things: the office one holds in the church, the problem one faces, the faith one has, and the timing of God. Now, granted the aforementioned definition seems fairly simplistic, but the anointing, and how it is applied, is as complex as God Himself. It is complex in its application, yet simple in concept.

So, how does God apply the anointing in the lives of believers? To answer that question, one must go back in scripture to the beginning and examine four major items that manifest the anointing of God, through His believers on earth. They are: creation, commandment, choice and capability.

Genesis: 1:26-30, And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (27) So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. (28) And God blessed them, and said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. (30) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. As one can clearly see, that God not only created man, He gave man everything that was needed for him to survive and keep the creation moving along. In other words, He started it, now, go do something with it. God gave man everything that he needed to survive and then some. Everything God gave man had the opportunity to replenish itself, including man. Hence, the commandment… be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." (Genesis 1:28). This is the point where God says to man, that He has made provision for everything you physically need to maintain fellowship with Him. He gave man food, He gave man authority, He gave man a dwelling place in His creation, and He gave man His blessing. He also gave man the opportunity to willingly serve Him. The animals did not have the ability to choose whom they would serve; the plants did not have the ability to choose whom they would serve; the landforms did not have the opportunity to choose whom they would serve; nothing but man, had that God-given choice. Man was something God chose to fellowship with Him, and that is why man has the ability to choose to this day. Why does God give man all of these things to keep fellowship with Him? Because, God knew that man had an adversary on the earth; and that adversary was named Lucifer.

The second commandment God gave to man was to leave the tree of knowledge of good and evil alone. Genesis 2: 16-17, And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: (17) but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest there of thou shalt surely die." There in the commandment God gave Adam, was also the choice that He gave Adam. In the choice that He gave Adam, was also the capability of man to exercise his power and dominion, in the soon-coming crisis.

Now scripture does not reveal the exact time that Lucifer received the left foot of fellowship from Heaven, but it does tell us when he showed up on earth. And, both the adversary, and the choice He gave man would come into play.

Genesis 3:1-5, Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden’? (2) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die,’ (4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. God knew what He was doing in the middle of that garden on that ill-fated day. Adam and Eve had been given a commandment and a choice that they would have to make under the pressure of a major crisis. Had Adam used the authority he had been given over every animal in the Garden, even the serpent’s body, who Satan had invaded, he would have had to obey the voice of God’s servant. Because the creative anointing of God was within the commandment that He had given Adam in the beginning, "and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth (Genesis 1:28.)" Adam did not understand what God’s creative anointing was; neither did he understand the authority he had to use it. The Christian of today, is sadly, not much better off than Adam was back in the garden. The Christian of today does not understand the power and authority God has given them, what they should do with that power, or how to be in His presence, to fellowship with God. God gave Adam that anointing of authority and rule to use at the point Satan challenged God’s spoken word of commandment to His saints. One must understand this fact, that God, will not impose His will on any individual. Everyone was created with a free will, to decide their individual paths of travel in life. God did not make humankind in the form of robots, who would follow Him blindly. No, not for a minute would God have created man with those attributes. God created man, so that He could have fellowship with us. He provided Adam with everything he needed, including Eve, and then provided him with the authority and dominion to keep him in fellowship with God. That authority was Adam’s lifeline to God. The authority is what Adam needed to maintain fellowship with God, or to, stay in the presence of God. It has not changed in over 6,000 years. Adam’s failure to use that authority brought death, damnation, and eviction from the Garden of Eden and surrender of man’s operating authority on the earth. That is why Jesus had to come and lay His life on the cross for us; to buy it back in blood. God had to give man a method in which he could get things from God without violating His word on the earth.

The Holy Spirit has always been somewhat neglected in theological circles. Numerous times the Holy Spirit is listed as it, or that thing. The Holy Spirit is just as much a part of the Godhead, as is the Father, and the Son. However most people who discuss the Holy Spirit, theologians included, fail to realize the massive impact the Holy Spirit makes in our life. The Holy Spirit is what activates, implements, and manifests the will of God on the earth. Without the Holy Spirit, the earth itself would not have been created, Jesus would not have been raised from the dead, nor would the saints be able to experience the rapture when Jesus makes his triumphant return. So, it is absolutely imperative that one understand the form and function of the Holy Ghost.

So what are the roles of the Holy Spirit? First of all, and most important, is that it is inside you, or indwells in you. Ezekiel 36:27, And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Now, before the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, the Holy Spirit was only found in God’s prophets, and some kings. The Holy Spirit is so powerful, that God could only trust certain people with it. The Holy Spirit is what activates, manifests, and delivers the saints of God from trials, troubles, temptations, and outright attacks from the enemy. In other words, it ushers in
