I dedicate this book to my six diamonds: Asha, Amani Justice, Lyric, Iyana, and Khai. Thank you for being my very first audience! Thank you for believing in my dream and giving me my first standing ovation. I remember questioning God as to why he allowed you all to see me at my weakest. Now, I no longer question him, because in my weakest and most hurtful moment, you saw how God strengthened me. I always said I didn’t want that to be the memory you have of me, but now, I do. As you go and start your lives, you will experience weak and hurtful moments as well, but you will remember how I persevered and you, my jewels, will stand strong too.

There are truths I want you to always know: if they make fun of you and laugh at your dreams, the truth is, they are intimidated by you and wish they had the courage to dream as you do. If they say you think you’re better than everyone else or say that you’re arrogant, the truth is, they see your confidence and wish they were as confident as you. If they say you will never make it, the truth is, they know that you will make it. If they say you are not good enough, the truth is, you already know that you are and their opinions do not matter. If they never come to support you, the truth is, I will always be in the front row, cheering you on. Never be afraid to dream because, in the midst of your dreaming, you will be awakened by your reality.
